Re: Bosch dishwasher SHU66C02UC

You have water in the base of the machine. There is a flood float in the bottom so if any water gets into the base, it will shut off the water and run the drain pump as long as the power button is on. So shut off the breaker, remove the toe kick, and remove any water that is down there. Now start the machine and see if water is leaking into the base. If there isn't any water, an the dw is still running the drain pump, then with a wooden spoon raise the red plastice stick on the left side of the dishwasher up and down. It is possible that the overfil float is stuck. If this makes the dw start filling, then run cooking oil thru the dishwasher on the scrub cycle to remove excessive detergent. If you are in hard water, then the water deposits have caused this. Run citric acid ( Tang orange drink, Dishwasher Magic, or such) thru the dishwasher to remove this.

Bosch shu66c02uc dishwasher has much longer cycle run times than it did the first 4 years we had it, also stays stuck on 1 or 2 minutes remaining for 30 minutes or more. Just doesn't clean any more.

Sounds like the filter is clogged. If you can and want to try to fix it yourself open door all the way after unplugging it or disconnecting power. Look under the top and you will find screws that you can take out and pull cage out. Then look at all of the drains, filter(s) and see if anything is clogged.

I have the SHU43C02UC model - it is white. It is 3 years old. If I turn it on any cycle it just runs for hours it does not stop.I have to stop it manually and drain the water out. Thanks Lisa

Hello Lisa and welcome to Fixya,

The problem you`re describing is a very common one with Bosch built dishwashers, unfortunately. My first suggestion would be to phone an authorized B/S/H/ service provider (Bosch) It can be a fairly involved repair, I`ll explain why as best as possible...

The issue with your Bosch dishwasher likely lye`s within`the electronic timer/control,( 99% of the time ) specifically the heater relay solder joint. ( a faulty flow switch, ntc or heater can also cause this, but not very probable ). This is why it runs forever unless pressing the two buttons for "cancel".

To repair your unit It will require you to remove the control from the unit and then remove the control from it`s plastic housing and look for a burnt solder contact on the printed circuit board. This will be one of the pins from the heater relay, hence the unit sits and runs & runs ( because it can`t heat to advance or until canceled ) trying to heat the water.

**Further to this, if you or someone you know is proficient at soldering, a lot of times it can be remedied by simply repairing the solder...although Bosch recommend`s replacing the control and I don`t pretend to speak on thier behalf nor do I profess to know better. This is just my experience (it work`s) and my opinion (why buy new if one can repair ?)**

**Please disconnect the power before attempting any service to the dishwasher. If you do not feel comfortable attempting this service, call a local pro, preferably one familiar with Bosch/Thermador/Gaggenau, to service your machine.**

Hope this answer`s your question's, let me know if I can assist you further. Thank`s for visiting "fixya" for your repair inquiries. Please take a moment and rate this solution to it's helpfulness to you and leave a testimony if you're satisfied.

Good luck.

If you coud describe where you hear the noise that would be helpfull. the noise could be somethig hilling one of the spray arms or something stuck in the pump impeller. if you only wear it when it is only in a wash cycle I would say it may be someting in the wash pump. But also make sure the spray arms are moving freely
