Jvc mx j800 front buttons + cd wont work...

Hi, probably 2-4 years ago i was listening to the stereo when the power went out. when it did, i was unable to change time, alarm, station, presets or any of that. but the am\fm button, aux, tape and cd buttons work. another problem i have is that the cd doesnt work, it goes ot cd but doesnt open or play. also sometimes the unti will turn off, the 3 cd drive lights will remain on, but i cant turn it back on. it just stays with teh 3 cd lights on as well as the red power light. i have no clue what the problem is, most likely electrical\ a fuse, but im fed up with not being able to use it for its intended purposes. anyway any help would be great, thanks.

SOURCE: JVC mx-kb30 Stereo comes on then goes right back off.

A desperate longshot but the only i have to offer: It might be a problem with the electricity. if possible try and install it at another location in your house, using other electricity sockets. If the problem is solved by relocating the system, you might be looking at wiring problems (audio equipment can be very sensitive to that), if changing anything in the installation process solved the problem then the problem was probably due to bad grounding and "loose" electricity. Try making the installation as "clean" as possible, avoid tangled wires and stressing a single socket with too many electric appliances. If the problem persists, and you are still under warranty, I suggest contacting your local JVC dealer. If you're out of warranty I suggest locating a professional repair person. Good luck

I own a Jvc mx -j800 shelf stereo I dropped it. Would like to know if repair is possible or where can I purchase the same equipment

Repair might be quiet simple or very difficult as it will depend on how much damage has been done. For example it could just be small crack on some circuit board that is the problem, easily repaired. One way to test it would to give it a gentle shake. If you can hear things rattling about inside then expect a big bill!
If you choose the replacement option then just enter the model number in the Amazon website. If it's still available it will come up, or something else will catch your eye.

What exactly is the issue? What part needs to be repaired? It seems to have been discontinued my the manufacturer so parts may be hard to come by or you can try calling the manufacturer and see if they still carry the parts for it and if they can repair it or maybe just mail you the parts. Since its discontinued they won't expect to get to many in and those parts will eventually just be thrown away. I would say just upgrade but after looking at it anything over $250 is for sure worth repairing in my opinion.

I also have a LG FA163DAB what won't eject a CD.

Hi there! I have one of these units and there appear to be 2 LOCKS on it. The first is a general LOCK probably to prevent people from fiddling with the controls while on display on the shopfloor. This lock is activated and removed by pressing the STOP key on the remote and on the front of the unit at the same time for 5-10 seconds. The second lock is a CD player lock which comes on automatically (I think) when the unit is moved to prevent damage to the laser inside. Does anyone know how to remove this lock? It has been on for about 3 days now and it is not explained in the user manual. My CD is stuck inside and I cannot listen to anything else but the CD which is inside the unit!

WE just bought fuses at the local radio shack. Ours were 4A 125V. You can look up your fuses on thier website to see if they carry them or just take one of your old ones with you. Hope you find what you are looking for.

Cd Player wont open

I have my manual here.

"Turn on the system and enter CD mode. While pressing the stop button on the unit( the little circular button with the dark square), press the CD Open/Close button on the unit. 'UNLOCKED' appears on the display."

Hope this helps.
