It sounds like you're plugging the camcorder in  via USB. Your PC is looking for a flash memory card (SD card on the GS300), which is used on that camcoder for still photos only.

If you want to transfer video from the camcorder, you need to use the Firewire port. DV camcorders do not transferr video via USB (some of the "computer" style camcorders, including most flash, DVD and HDD camcorders, can use USB for file transfers).

Backup Plus Potable 500 GB Light Blinking and disk not being read I've got a Seagate 500 GB backup plus external hard disk which is about 2 months old. The hard disk has started to make a slight clicking...

The clicking could be a symptom of imminent failure of the hard drive . Back up all information from this drive as soon as possible. It may be something that a program such as checkdisk can fix but be sure to backup drive before attempting any fixes just to be safe. Hope this helps.

I don't know how to upload my vids to the pc

There are two way to upload your video's to your pc:

  1. You can upload video to the use of your camcorder connector. Connect your USB cable to your camcorder and plug it to your computer. You need to turn on your camcorder so that it will be recognized by the computer.
  2. You can upload also your video's with the use of memory card reader. Remove your memory card from your camcorder and insert it to the card reader. Plug the card reader to the computer. The computer will recognized the card. Now you can upload your photo's or video's.
Good luck!

Whenever i insert an external hard drive, it tells no drivers

It is possible when *********** board is of old model.
you should update your computer's hardware system.
try your hard disk in your friend's computer, if it will work ther, that's mean *********** board can't support your hard disk, try hard disk of small sizes.

Every time i insert the memory card my camera freezes up and i have to take the batteries out in order to get it to cut off or function until i remove the card.

plug your camera, with card inserted, into your pc and run a scandisk to it.. Right click the drive and then properties, then scan disk. Select fix all and let it run. If that doent work, then try a new card. They are very inexpencive now adays.

Viewing content on my PC.

did you check your "my computer" folder? It should be with the public drives. If you AREN'T on a PC it would be in finder, next to the "Hard disk" (this will have a new name, but it should look like a disc drive) the camera will most likely be represented by a white drive with an eject button next to it.
