Question about HP LaserJet 1000 Printer

Will not print more than 1 page

I am having issues with my Hp laserjet 1000--

when i go to print a document it will only print the first page, after which the green light on the printer will blink, with no other pages following -- while in the que says that the document is still printing.. No other documents will be able to be printed after this problem. the only way to clear the que is to power off the printer and restart.

I have no idea what the problem could be, I am running win XP home, and have the latest drivers installed!
Please Help!

Yes, the status of the green (ready) light before printing is solid with the amber light OFF (typically a sign of a working printer) .

But after I send a document to the printer the machine spools up, prints the first page of the documents, at which time the green light proceeds to blink on and off, (and will for as long as the printer has power thus preventing further print jobs.) The amber light does not come on during the entire process.

I have tried a test page, but from the control panel, which it printed sucessfully. I will try the engine test page~

    Any ideas?

    thank you!

The Ready light blinking means the printer is receiving and processing data.

If you have recently reinstalled the drivers make sure to check that your paper size is set correctly as that could be causing the printer to stop.

Can you please tell me the status of both the Ready (green) and Attention (amber) lights when this happens? Off, On or Blinking.

Also, you may want to try print out a engine test page, with the printer ON press the button beneath the cable pod at the rear of the printer.

PCL XL error in hp laserjet 3055

information about the cause:
PCL XL error pages that print from an HP LaserJet 1200, 1300, 2200, 2300, 3200 or 3300 series product when a PCL 6 printer driver is in use typically indicate a communication issue. Sometimes this issue is caused by an incompatibility between the Enhanced XL language and the software application.

You can find the solution for this error here:
(It's a long instruction page, I advise to copy the sections that refere to your OS to a separate document, so you don't miss any step)

Printing speed problem

Laserjets have limited amount of ram to keep large docs in memory, you can increase the document or in windows have it spool on your machine first.

Why do all pages print onto one page when i hit the print button in a multipage document

I guess you are using word. In that case the default driver you use and comes standard with windows is flawed. Download a new one from HP.
