Question about SanDisk Sansa e200 MP3 Player

1 Answer

It won't charge

Um, my SanDisk Sansa e200 MP3 Player won't charge. When I plug it in to the computer it doesn't recognize it. The mp3 player says connected and it won't charge. So, I tried to charge it in the car with a charger specifically meant for it and it still won't charge. It's never done this before and I've never dropped it or got it wet, and I've had it ever since Christmas. Me and my parents think that the battery is dead and it's just not going to charge.

What i would recommend you to do is to reset the player by pressing the power button..then get the firmware upgrade...And also uninstall the device and reinstall it back...tou uninstall it...assuming that you are running windows xp/...click on start, right click on my computerIt won't charge - 1.gif and go to properties..you should have your system properties open then click under hardware1.gif then device manager...look for the sansa device..it usually located under portable device..if its not showing there i would recommend you to look for under disk drives and see if its there..right click on the device and click on uninstall...after you unintall it unplug your device from the computer and check to usb mode..it has to be under MTP mode or auto....after you check the mode open up your windows media1.gif player click on tools, options and click under privacy...clear the history and caches...after you finish you can plug the device on the back of the computer not the front then windows should recongnize it and it should work properly..if that doesnt solve the problems upgrade your windows media player to 11 even though you have done that already..let me know the outcome...
This is the link for the firmware update

I can't download music to my San Disk 1GB MP3 player that I got for Christmas. I did not get a manual with it.

To put music on your Sansa e250 you will do this:
Download Windows Media Player 9 or 10 to your computer. I would use Media Player 10 as it is the newer player. After you download Media Player 9 or 10 open it up on your computer, and then hook up your mp3 player, it should be recognized by Media Player and then you can transfer the songs to it. You need to put the music cd in your computer cd player and download the songs to Media Player using Windows Media Player 9 or 10. I have also included a website where you can download the user manual, it will say e200, but the instructions are also for the e250. Good Luck, I hope this helps. Please rate me, Thank You.

Trying to add 4 GB microSDHC card to sandisk sansa e260. connect e260 to computer via USB. insert micro card. computer does not recognize microcard. why?

Hello,

The player automatically connects to the computer in Media Transfer Protocol mode (MTP mode).
For accessing the microSD card in the player, the USB connection in the player has to be set to MSC mode, see:
http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/167

How to change USB mode for the e200 series, proceed as next:
1. From the Main Menu, select Settings > USB Mode.
2. Select Auto Detect, MTP or MSC.

I cant get in my computer but its showing in device manager

As you tell the device in can only be detected in the device manager.
It can not be seen as a removable disk in MSC mode and neither in MTP mode, showing as media player with the Sans icon.

Consult next page about 'player not being recognized':
http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/42/kw/manager/r_id/101834
Refresh the drivers or manually ad the driver for the player as described.

Sansa manual for e200 series (version 2):
http://mp3support.sandisk.com/downloads/um/e200v2_userguide_en.pdf

Important:
1. Check the system requirements of the computer as described in the manual on page 8 of the file [=page 5].
2. Charge the device using an USB connector directly to the computer,
not through a hub or card reader, preferred at the back side.

If more help is needed, just post a comment.
