My USB ports both don't work they stopped working and I tried to restore my PS3 to factory setting and that popped up I can not sync because o the messed up ports money is extremely tight and can't af

This is a common problem Sony basically will not support and will make you buy a new system. The pins for the USB ports are made so cheaply you can't even find a replacement from anywhere except Sony...

There is only one way to make this work:

1. Turn off PS3
2. Plug in controller to USB port
3. Turn on PS3

USB should work if something is in upon bootup, if this does not solve your problem I hate to break it to you, but a new PS3 it is my friend...

Controller won't link to the ps3 middle button just flashes as if its trying to connect. I have connected the tab coors but still nothing works.

Is the controller completely charged? If it is, then try this
1) Manually turn on your PS3 using the power button on the PS3.
2) Take your USB charger for your controller and plug it into the USB port. (Do NOT turn on your controller yet!)
3) Plug the controller into the charger that is connected to the PS3 USB port.
4) Now turn on your controller using the middle "PS" button.

The lights will flash for a few seconds, and that will sync your controller to that particular PS3 system. This might help :D

Hi fat_cheesy_b

When you insert your usb stick into the usb port you then go to the movie you would like to copy hit triangle copy then you need to find your usb stick in the list so you can transfer the movie to there..
So firstly you want to make sure your usb is big enough to transfer the movie on there around 2gb would be find...Then you insert your usb stick into ps3 turn your system on go to the movie you want to copy from your ps3 system hit triangle copy and your usb device should flash up on the screen for you to select...

If your usb stick isn't being displayed you need to convert it to fat file system which is easy to do you put your usb stick into your computer go to my computer right click on the usb stick and select format to fat file system that way the ps3 will recognize the device..Try this if you need more help please be sure to reply back and i will be happy t help you =) cheers nikki (Please rate my answer)

When i turn on my ps3, the background pops up but the menu doesnt appear, i tried to connect the controller with the usb port but nothing works. it doesnt do any thing, HELP!!!!!

Turn your PS3 completely off by pressing the power button and then turning off the power switch in the back. Your PS3 should show no lights. Wait about an hour to let the system completely cool down, then turn the power switch on the back on again. Now press the power button and hold it until the system beeps. This will reset a few settings and make sure the system is OK. Hook your PS3 up using the RCA Red White and Yellow cable and turn it on again, and you should be able to be back up and running.

When i turn my ps3 on,red light goes green then red right away

Try disconnecting your PS3 and then for 10 seconds if that doesn't work, disconnect all jackets meaning all usb connection ports connected in it. Remove them, then turn on your ps3 see what happens (without using the controller), then disconnect the ps3 cord that connects to your extension cord or jacket and plug it back in. Try it again. Then again with the controller could try. Try disconnecting other ports such as other stuff like as listed, Irons,Fans, etc.           !!!!!!DON'T USE TOO MUCH POWER!!!!

The Same thing happened to me on my Wii though.

If nothing works call Customer Support (SONY)

My playstation 3 wont read games

Have you tried cleaning the disc? If that doesn't help, maybe you can put the PS3 in a area where it is not dusty and see if that works. If both of these solutions don't work, try contacting Sony and see if they have any solutions to your problem.

Good Luck!

PS3 controller Problem

I just fixed mine. The controller itself needs to be reset. There is a reset button on the back of the controller, above the top right hand corner of the square with all on the information and barcode. Press it with a sharp tipped object while still connected to the PS3 via USB cable. Then press the PS button and you should be back on wirelessly.
