FixYa.com rates me as a expert in HP products. I will tell you I am not a expert in ALL HP products. I am not aware of a physical counter on any HP printer. I do know that some top end HP printers track this information through software. Whether your particular model tracks this or not, I dont know. I do know if you send a e-mail to HP support with this question, they will respond. I am posting this as a comment vs a solution ... because I have not really given you a solution. Please follow through with my suggestion and ask HP if your printer had this feature.

I don't know if Sales320 answer is universal. It is worth me trying it and you should also.

to get such a page I think all you have to do is send a test page to the printer. i never paid a lot of attention to that page as long as it looked good.

I had a printer just like yours ... needs a special cable as I recall. a really nice printer for Windows 98. I used mine to print checks. When I moved to XP, I made it work by using a special HP driver. Then ... a friend had a need for a decent printer for W98 and I was writing fewer checks, migrating to the online pay method so I let it go. :-(

A very nice printer and it probably will probably have this feature. Originally, this was a office grade printer, in case you wern't aware. It was cheap to operate too. I only used two cartridges in it the whole time I had it...

Im rambling now ... been at the desk all day instead of working in the basement. Have probably answered 150 or so questions today. Not bad for a volunteer, eh?

Good evening my friend.

Thanks for posting at FixYa.com

Printing Sections in Microsoft Word

Printing Word Documents with Multiple Sections You have a document with multiple sections. When you try to print specific pages, you get either one single page, or the whole document. What you don’t get is the two separate pages you need.

First, take note of which section has the first page you want to print, and in which section the second page resides.

You need to print Page 2 of Section 1 and Page 1 of Section two.
In this particular case, the command is the usual: File | Print:

The difference in this case is how you specify the pages to be printed. In the Pages dialog box, type P2S1, P1S2 and then click OK. The comma “,” separating the two pages indicates two separate pages. The result will print Page 2 of Section 1 and Page 1 of Section 2.

If, however, you wanted to print from Page 2 of Section 1 through and including Page 1 of Section 2, the command would be P2S1-P1S2. The dash "-" indicates a range of pages, which results in printing from Page 2 of Section 1 through and including Page 1 of Section 2.

Reverseprinton hp2540

this unit prints one side of paper only
to get it to print 2 sides when you go print on a document thee will be a section that says print all pages , print this page ,print elected pages
in the print selected section type in the pages you want to print ie 1,3,5,7,9 or even pages 2,4,6,8
or there may be a section that opens up with print all pages, print odd pages ,print even pages
to print both sides select odd pages and when they have printed take the whole of the pages and reverse them in the printer feed and then select even pages and print
the operators manual will explain how to do ti.

How can I do a 2 sided print

DOUBLE SIDED PRINTING USING A SINGLE SIDED PRINTER
If your printer does not have a duplex unit then the printer cannot print double sided pages automatically.
You can print double sided pages but you have to do it one page at a time.
First print Page 1 then place the page back into the paper tray, but turn the page upside down and the print Page 2.
Then print page 3 on one side then page 4 on the other side and repeat for the rest of the document.
I suggest you try a test page first, to get the printing the right way up on both sides of the page so it reads correctly.

I have a printer thats printing on one side only. how can i fix this

Do you mean double sided printing? If so this model printer does not have a duplex unit and cannot print double sided prints automatically.
DOUBLY SIDED PRINTING WITHOUT A DUPLEX UNIT
Open your Word document.
Open page 1 - then Print the current page.
Then put the printed page 1 back in the paper tray upside down.Open page 2 and Print the current page (page 2 will beprinted on the other side of the page 1).
Repeat this procedure for the other pages.
