Question about Kenmore Elite HE4 Electric Dryer
There are two metal strips in the front ,right, inside of your dryer. (You have to put your head in the dryer to see them.) I have seen metal (a paper clip, hairpin, staple, etc...) making contact between the two pieces of metal causing your machine not to recognize wet clothes. The washer recognizes the wetness as an on off contact from the water as the clothes come between the two strips. Try cleaning the strips very well. If this does not work you must check the wires coming from the strips all the way to the control board to make sure the wires are not broken anywhere. Check the continuity with an ohm meter. If all this is fine, you have a bad control board and will have to replace the power control board that the sensor hooks into. You should be able to use the timed dry just fine if you decide not to replace the control. I don't have your model number but they can be more than $200.
