Question about Orb mStation 2.1 Stereo Docking Station, Speaker System for iPod - Pink

Open Question

The sound is not working on my mstation orb. If you put your ear to the center speaker, you can VERY faintly hear a beat. I've tried other ipods, connecting it to different outlets etc, but it won't work. It's barely used, unlike my brother's orb, yet it is not functioning?! Suggestions?

Do you have an adapter that can plug it into your regular stereo? That might take care of it.

The right earcup in my beats by dr dry solo hd is making a cracking sound when im turning it up and down

that is because you push all the air against the speaker. the air have to get oute somwere. i had the same broblem so i put a little peace of rubber between the ear cushion and the plastick part. so ther is a litte split. if jou has a good peace of rubber or some plastick soft foam en at the top, you just do\'nt see the split. but be carful he can drop in to the speaker. wen you\'ve don dhat you do\'nt heare it enymore if it is good. (my english is not vedry good, iam from holland) i hope it worked for you. :p

The speakers work fine apart from the sub component has lost all volume u can hear it very faintly if u turn the volume to full and the bass control to max. I've taken the sub apart to some extent...

Appears that the map powering the sub woofer is fubar. Those amps take a beating usually from being over driven. Transistors are not like tubes that will just reach a limit, distort, and stay there. You push a transistor and it will self destruct since it knows no limits ala evel knevil.

Ipod dock plugged it, switch to DMPORT no sound from speakers

I had the same problem. I tried everything and finally following two fixed the problem:

Dock insert has to be put before inserting Ipod in the dock. Dock insert usually comes with iPod when you buy it....After inserting the doc I was able to hear the sound but it was very faint. Then I updated the ipod's firmware. My Ipod classic was two years old. I updated the firmware by connecting it to the PC and opening itunes. Clicked on 'ipod' link and clicked to update button.

After the update, this ipod started working with my home theater system's DMPort.
