You should not be concerned about that. It is a good thing that the water goes to the pan. Depending on your Kenmore model number there is a time set either mechanically or electronically to cause the freezer to go into defrost. The defrost water runs down a small pipe and enters that condensate pan where the fan and heat from the compressor and condenser return the moisture back into the room or home. The problem is only when that drain line becomes blocked is when the real problems happen. Please rate me if this helped you or not rate me if I did not answer correctly y explaining more clearly that this is the subject. You can clean the pan with clorox and water but that requires unplugging the refrigerator and pulling away from wall removing cover behind compressor and wiping clean. The only reason you would need to do that is if food or something spoiled inside refrigerator and that would be done through the freezer and back panel. Ask me later about that. Right now I think you are working fine, Thanks, Sea Breeze

PLHS267ZA is leaking water from the bottom (freezer side)

I would look under the fridge for a drip pan that might be full, so when it defrost it overflows the pan and runs on the floor. If not that you must have a blockage somewhere in the drain line that runs to the drip pan. Take out the shelves and take off the plastic panels to access the drain and drain line, pour some warm water down the drain to unplug it.

Maytag Fridge MFF2558VEM is leaking water from bottom of unit. Suspect a clogged drain hole. Need to access the drip pan and clear drain hole. Drip pan is not behind the toeplate grill at the front

Fridge has a design issue. Duckbill drain valve clogs. They have a new ptrap drain replacement but you have to ask for it, as customer service will deny a problem exists. Here is the service bulletin which was supposed to be for internal use only! https://docs.google.com/file/d/0BzIiBNwRIV4NNWJNNmx0andROGs/edit

It goes through the defrost tube to underneath unit. Poor very hot water in that hole and watch underneath unit where it comes out. If nothing is coming out, then it is still blocked.

Trickling water noise coming from the bottom of the fridge.

It may be nothing to be concerned about. The water produced during the defrost cycle drains into a pan at the bottom of the refrigerator. This water is then evaporated by heat from the refrigerant coils.

You may be hearing this water dripping into the pan from the tubing that carries it from the inside of the refrigerator.

My refrigerator is leaking water underneath it. the ice maker is not hooked up

Is it leaking water INSIDE the fridge at the bottom - if so that is an indication of a clogged defrost drain - if you have a drip cup in your refrigerator, that connects to a tube at the back of your fridge, to carry the water from the defrost cycle down the drip pan at the bottom.

If you see water OUTSIDE your unit, the only explanation is an overflowing drip pan ! Water from the defrost cycle drains and drips on a pan that sits on the compressor or besides it - the hot air from the compressor will cause water in the pan to evaporate quickly - either through a fan or when the pan is placed directly above compressor. If your model has a fan at the bottom next to compressor, that blows the hot air on it, check to see if it's working when compressor cycle is on.
There is no reason for that drip pan to overflow otherwise, it is quite big enough, and the water from the defrost cycle is usually around 2 ounces and should evaporate quickly.

Samsung Fridge Freezer leaking water

hi August.
Cause: A blocked defrost drain is one of the most common causes of water leakage. This happens when food particles or other debris clogs up the drain hose, which can lead to ice buildup and, eventually, water leaking out of the freezer and refrigerator.
3 common refrigerator problems you can easily fix yourself

The freezer drain hose will drain the defrost water into a drip pan at the bottom of the freezer. When this pan becomes full, it will leak water onto the floor. This is a regular maintenance task whenever the freezer defrosts. Empty the drip pan during the defrost cycle.
How to Fix Water Leaking From the Bottom of Freezer

Why is my fridge leaking water on the floor? If the refrigerator is leaking water it's possible that the refrigerator has a clogged or freezing defrost drain. If the defrost drain freezes the defrost water will overflow the drain and drip down to the bottom of the compartment, If enough water accumulates in the bottom it can run out onto the floor.

Drip pan overflow

you could need more freon, because it is causing the pipes to warm up a bit more then they should be, then the condensation builds up. If the problem still percists after you have this checked, i would put a drain hose on it temporairly and aim for a new fridge if it is from before 1994.
