SOURCE: CCD-TRV308 - TAPE DOOR WON'T OPEN
depends where the tape is located if it's still wrapped around the head i would recommend taking it in if it's inside the cassette you can have to take the door off and see if it pops out.
Take the battery out and turn selection switch to camera and then turn it off. Put the battery back in and its working again.

when mechanism pops out to eject, wait until it completly comes out, deattache battery immediately, and Pull lever as per below mentioned picture. Cassette door will be open and place cassette. Close it and attache the battery. Camera is ready to Record or Playback.

I have a handy can and had trouble with the cage closing with a tape installed. I found the most unlikely problem the rotation of the drun was slowing up and then siezed eventually.
I took it apart abd it was not a good idea to go any farther into the cage to extract the drum. The drum goes for over 250 dollars the price of half of the camera. Well I figure what the heck I experimented. I soaked the hole cage and drum in Denatured alcohol and unn siezed it. then I blew it out with the air compressor and really made the head spin. Then as I put the unit back together I found i was not careful with the audio ribon cable lost sound but the unit did work for silent movies. It was junk anyways over 250 dollar 3 head drum.

When you got your camera, did you receive a VCR adapter that you can put the 8mm in and then pop it into your VCR?
It will be pretty spendy to have somebody do it for you if you want it done professionaly.
I hope thisw helps.
