Before connecting ipod to your computer, open itunes and click on the EDIT menu then PREFERENCES, then click on the DEVICES tab, check the settings that prevent ipod from syncing automatically Box and click on OK.
Now connect your ipod and wait for itunes to detect and display tour ipod, click on your ipod on the left column and CHECK Manually manage music box
you will see an arrow right before the ipod icon, click on the arrow ad it should expand, select MUSIC and now UNCHECK the box of every music you want to remove from the ipod and the old ones and go back to your ipod music menu and CHECK the SYNC MUSIC box then select the SYNC PLAYLIST, GENRES, ARTIST.
now you are manually managing your ipod and syncing only the songs you want.
Make sure you check the box of only the music you want to sync in your itunes library so that it will not sync all the music in your library to your ipod.
