Contact your service provider to get the code for
your Nokia N97. If they failed to provide the code get the
code from online
providers itself. I would suggest the site Unlock-Zone.com ,and unlock
it using unlocking instructions which is given in the site itself.
If the cell phone battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% and gradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR The battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced. Rechargeable batteries will fail if stored in a discharged state for long periods.

Hi,
Please check your battery, it might have already been damaged. My battery was already bloated, and hard to put the back cover when I encountered the same problem. You may also borrow a battery, from a friend just to verify it. Before checking the battery, I did some verification using a known good nokia charger from a friend, and still could not charge it.
P.S. I replaced my battery after using my N97 for more than 3 years.
It could be the battery or there could be a shot on the board, i would recommend you contact Dr. Cell Phone. They do cell phone repair in Houston and Dallas, TX. Besides that, they also provide nationwide mail-in repair service.
Replace the battery. They don't last forever. Make sure it's not something stupid like the phone is being left on. Go into the menu and change the auto answer settings.
can you hellp me unlocking my Nokia N-97
