Dayton Model 1VNX5 Kerosene clicks like crazy but won't light

Hi, I have a new Dayton Model 1VNX5 Kerosene Torpedo Heater. It's a 38K BTU model. Rather than ignite, it makes a loud continuous clicking noise and will not fire although the fan runs. I need to send this back to the maker for service or replacement, but I can't even find out who makes this thing. Any ideas?

I have the same heater with the same problem. I took the top cover off, removed the ignitor and bent the probes slightly closer. Use two needle nose to prevent breakage of the holder. It has been working fine since.

How to ajust dayton 155000 btu torpedo heater when running smell like kerosen

You say: When running it smells like Kerosene--
That is what you are burning in it, right?

Is it smoking--- like there is a poor combustion mixture?
-- like maybe not enough air pressure?

There is a pressure adjustment for both-- Please check the manual for adjusting the pressures for your particular model.
