Hello...

I know it may sound simple, but did you check all the applicable fuses.

Good Luck

  • Thomas Johnson Dec 13, 2009

Not sure if you have it, but there is a fuse O (letter) that is part of the circuit. If that does not apply, its time time to start checking grounds and connectors. Also, make sure there are no blow blinker bulbs.

Sorry, from my information I cannot tell where it is located. It just states that it is in the Power Dist. Center (PDC).

    Good Luck

Need to no were the fasher location is on a 99 ford concord

"Need to know where the flasher location is on a 99 Ford Contour"

It is located or plugged into the side of the multi-function switch. If you remove the plastic covers from the steering column you will be able to replace the flasher.

Perhaps you need to start with fog light problem I am guessing we do not know for sure the switch was the cause, if you can remove them from the equation. When checking for shorts make sure you check light bulbs to,
Next, since the multi function switch was the next step in your problem solving, I suggest you remove the new switch check out all wires to the connector, be especially careful to make sure none of wires have pulled out or partially pulled out of the connector. Let me know when you finish this then we can move on to continuity testing.
My best guess is the connector as it is common to both your fog light and multi-function switch,
Above all don't let it get to you, these problems can be frustrating but they also can be interesting and fun especially with the right assistant

Turn signals and brake lights will not work

A mechanic would check for voltage at the multi-function switch in the column. Those three circuits go thru the turn signal switch.

I have a 2004 Monte Carlo, my turn signals and flashers just stopped working, the fuse is good and all the bulbs are good. Does anyone have any other ideas as to what is causing this problem.

The turn signal switch assembly often causes this problem. If the hazard button is on your steering column it is part of the switch assembly and is called a multi-function switch . If it has a separate hazard button on the dash the can also cause the the same thing to happen. Try holding very slight pressure on the hazard button on the dash while the turn signal is on. If it starts working correctly replace only the the hazard switch. It is usually just snapped into the hole in the dash. If the hazard switch is on the column, than you should replace the multi-function switch. If it is equipped with an airbag, be sure the key is off while working on column. The multi-function switch should not require removal of the steering wheel on this car.

No signal lights

there are two different relays for flasher and turn, I would check the turn signal relay, if seems good I would check the switch.
