SOURCE: fan switch not work - Viking 3048SS brand new range hood

I did some more troubleshooting and figured out how to get the plate off that houses the switches. I disconnected the fan switch and created a safe electrical by-pass. I re-connected the main power supply and sure enough, the fan worked. Issue = defective switch. Currently looking to order replacement. Problem solved.

SOURCE: Ventline Range Hood Fan broken

In my RV, which should be similar, I removed the filter from the hood. With power off, I removed the fan, which was held on with a clip. Removed two screws holding the motor in and took it to a camper supply store. Mobile home supply would have had it, too. You might find the motor on line if you go to the website of the manufacturer or search for parts for that brand.

How to replace the condensor fan on GE Mod.gdl20kcsabs --bottom freezer

How To Replace the Condenser Fan The condenser fan is located behind the refrigerator. It may be necessary to remove an access panel to reach it.
If the fan blade is damaged, it can be removed from the fan motor and replaced separately.
Caution:Please read our safety information before attempting any testing or repairs.
cautiontri.gif Before replacing the condenser fan, unplug the refrigerator to avoid an electrical shock hazard.

The fan motor is held in place with screws and possibly a mounting bracket. Remove the bracket and the screws and pull the motor back away from the housing.
The fan motor is connected by two or three wires. Label the wire placement on the motor before disconnecting the wires. The wires are connected to the terminals with slip-on connectors or a plug. Firmly pull the connectors off of the terminals (do not pull on the wire). You may need to use a pair of needle-nose pliers to remove the connectors. Inspect the connectors and the terminals for corrosion. If the connectors are corroded they should be replaced.

Remove the fan blade from the old motor and install it onto the new motor. Connect the wires to the new motor and install the motor into the bracket or housing. Make certain that all of the screws are tightened securely.
Replace the access cover (if any) and plug in the refrigerator.

I have a" Nautilus Microtek

The motor is getting worn to the point it will stop soon. Remove the screen and you find the fan/motor directly behind it. You can try to put some machine oil on the motor shaft next to the motor housing. It may quieten it some. Recommend you replace it. Be sure you disconnect power before you do anything else. The motors and fan assembly is small in size and can be bought in Home Depot or an appliance store. If you need assistance in removing the motor/fan and installing new one, please let me know. Those brands are found at Home Depot.

Hi. Last Friday we had a new Kenmore stainless steel range hood installed along with a new range. Yesterday the range hood fan and lights would not work. The fan does not come on at any speed. The lights...

Some installers plug the fan/light into an outlet in the cupboard above. Check to see if that has power. Some of the outlets are behind a panel in the cabinet above and you have to remove the screws. I have seen the plugs laying in the cabinet just like they had never been plugged in. Yours obviously was plugged in but maybe fell out. If the fan/light is hard wired than you should make sure the power is turned off at the breaker box and then check the wiring inside the box to make sure it is wire nutted together and is holding. I would also check that the breaker for the fan/light is still putting out power. These last two might be a little tricky if you have never tried them. The breakers sometimes go bad but look like they are set. If the whole hood fan is not getting power it is probably time for an electrician or the people who installed to come back.

My Range Hood (Best by Broan K260A) is just two years old in a new house. WHen I use it, fat & grease drip down from the left and right edges against the wall. Can someone tell the problem?

grease accumulation, remove the fours screws on the lower plate, to remove excess grease. further you can unscrew the bolt that are holding the assembly and unplug the unit. after remove fans with allen key and remove motor , clean and reassemble , make shure to put motor the right back the same way. reassemble the same way , problem should be solve for at least 7 years depending on cooking.

It sounds like the fan blade may be installed upside down, or the entire motor/fan assembly is upside down. Typically, these small motors aren't reversible, so you should check the blade first.

Fan switch not work - Viking 3048SS brand new range hood

There is the on off switch and the blower control that controls the speed of the fan. It is more than likley the blower control that would need replaced.

There could also be a wire disconnected in the hood.

Brand new Viking 3048SS hood - fan switch not working

think i would call viking back and ask for refund of inspection fee and go by the bad switch scenerio the electrician said new fan that would be considered flaws in workmanship in most states dont know where you are located but pretty much same anywhere most inspectors for these companies always try to blame problems off on installers hold your ground and make them fix it and refund that" inspection " fee I've been doing electrical work for several (20+) years it takes longer than 5 minutes to troubleshoot something like that good luck

BABT83.2AL Canopy Rangehood The fan/suction is not working. A slight straining noise is heard. The light is working as is the display panel.

These units have a history of fan failure due to inferior 220 volt Italian fan.

I have just had fan fail and retrofitted a ebmpapst blower fan model D2E146HT6702 which is readily available in Aus for around $120.

The fan speed control is by inverter variable output so you don't use all the speed select wires that this fan has. Connect the Red wire on the range hood to the Black on the motor (High speed winding) and the Black on the range hood to the Blue on the motor (Neutral) and the earth to the earth (Green).

Disconnect and toss the cap in the white enclosure under the PC board enclosure (the new fan has the cap on board). Don't know how easy to fit in the range hood as mine is in an acoustic fan housing in the roof (makes it wisper quiet when running)
