Question about Bissell Lift-Off(R) Revolution(R) Turbo Upright Vacuum

1 Answer

Bissell Lift-Off(R) Revolution(R) Turbo Upright.

I have a Bissell Lift Off Bagless 12 amp vacuum; Model 3750, serial # 04041600712S. It made a rubber smell and then brush stopped turning. I disassembled the brush and cleaned it out. It did not look like anything was stopping it. The rubber band looked fine so I left it in. The beater bar still will not work. I think the thermal cut off switch is activated but I can't figure out how to reset the switch or even find. Unfortunately, I have lost the manual.

I have the same problem with the Bissell Lift -Off Revolution
vacuum model number 3760-2. Rubber smell turned out to be a broken belt. The brush won't
rotate even by hand. I've read I need to replace both. How do I replace
the belt? And where is the best place to get the replacement parts quickly?

I have the Bissell model number 3760-2 and I need to know where to buy the brush part #2036619. I am in Connecticut. Is there a store that I can purchase it at? Or where can I call to order the part? Any ideas?  I did purchase the belt already at Home Depot but I was told by a family member it is the brush that needs to be replace...I don't have any idea where I would find that. Can you help?

Same experience with the roller brush.  Brought the part in to a local vacuum ( old time shop) dealer.  VERY reputable.  He said that this will be a frequent problem and that I (we) need to order the part on line and he suggests ordering 2 so that I have one handy for the next time.  He said that this is a common problem with all vacuums with plastic parts.  Even Dyson will have this problem.  Just wears due to dirt, etc getting in the mechanism.

If you have a rubber smell, then the belt is slipping, does the brush roll turn freely while holding the ends? If not then replace it, part #2036619, if it is ok, then the belt has strectched and is slipping under load, part # 2106679, Style 8.

I unscrewed the roller brush protective cover and removed the brush to clean it. Now the roller won't turn because the drive shaft is not turning. Is there a reset button or something?

I looked at the pictorial of this vacuum at this URL:
This shows the belt to slide on the motor drive pulley and also on the brush. If the brush is bound up on the two ends where it fits into the body of the vacuum, you would have a problem turning it. Please be sure the end pieces are clean and if possible, spray with a little bit of WD40. Replace the brush and belt according to the picture in the URL and it should work fine. Please contact me if you have questions or experience more problems. Paul

Bisell 3750 bagless makes a burning rubber smell after about two minutes

The first place to look is the brush roller for hair or thread binding it. Put the machine on it's side and look at the underneath side towards the front. Th brush roller will be there. Take the cover off to expose the roller and see if there is something wound around it.
Good Luck,

Model 3750 bissell bagless stop picking up

It is most likely because of a worn or stretched belt. They need to be replaced every 6 to 12 months on your model. You can get replacement belts here:

Bissell lift off, brush won't move smell burning rubber belt fine

OK - so your brush roller is jammed. And yes, the belt is melting! Unplug the machine, remove the belt (you will need another new one anyway) then see if you can turn the roller by hand. If it turns freely without you doing anything else, then you may have put the new belt in incorrectly. However, you will probably find you can't turn it, or it's hard work (it should rotate freely). Remove the roller and check the bearings - there may well be something tangled up at one end of the roller. If you can get the roller rotating freely, all should be well.
Good luck
