Question about Dell Inspiron 6000 Notebook

1 Answer

I need the SPECIFIC INTERNET DRIVERS to use. There's about 5 or 6 options to choose from and nothing is working. I'm about ready to throw it out the WINDOW! Right now, my laptop doesn't even realize that it has wireless capabilities.

From the manufacturer's web-site:

http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&ServiceTag=&SystemID=INS_PNT_6000&os=WW1&osl=en&catid=&impid=

enter the "Service Tag" for your computer, and let the web-site advise you which wireless network-adapter was shipped with your computer,
and to advise you which device-driver software to install.

Show to install sound device driver in windows xp ?

  • 1 Insert your driver disk into the CD/DVD ROM drive. The disk should automatically boot. Then follow the on-screen instructions. This usually entails clicking on "Install" or "Install Sound Driver."
  • 2 Download the sound driver specific to your card and Windows XP. Driver websites include Drivers Kit, XP-Drivers and Driver XP. Locate the make and model of your card. Click on the manufacturer and then select the "Download" link.
  • 3 Double-click on the sound driver. The application will go through a setup process. Follow the on-screen instructions.
  • Manual Installation
  • 1 Click on the "Start" menu. Select "Control Panel," then scroll to "Add Hardware" and click to open. Sometimes, the automatic installation does not work properly. You will then need to install the sound drivers manually.
  • 2 Read and use the "Add Hardware Wizard." Click the "Next" tab. Windows XP will scan your computer for components.
  • 3 Scroll down the list to "Audio Drivers" or "Sound Drivers." Then click "Next." Select the "Finish" tab. Another window will appear.
  • 4 Select the "No, Not This Time" option on the "Hardware Update Wizard." Click "Next." Choose the "Install from a List or Specific Location" button. Then click the "Next" tab again.
  • 5 Place the sound driver disk in the CD/DVD ROM. Point the "Search Option" to your CD/DVD ROM or download folder. Click the "Include This Location to Search" box. Type in the path to your download folder or select the "Browse" option. Search through the computer to choose your download application. Click "Next."
  • 6 Wait until the file installs. This takes approximately two to three minutes. Turn up your speakers and reboot your computer

My other computer says i am missing my Ethernet

Hi there, the easiest way to do this, if you are using XP, stick the XP disk in, boot from disk, follow the options untill you get to repair windows, simply do this and it will install all the drivers again.
if not, you can go to the IBM webstie www.ibm.com then go to drivers and software, type in the drivers you are missing, then download them, make you sure you download the correct model tho, that should work.

Just reloaded software but cannot get online with cable modem under hardware manager drivers were missing for network adapter, which I was able to find, but cannot find driovers for PCI input device and...

The only drivers you need are for the network adapter.
If they are there, you're ready to get online. But--if you installed everything and didn't reset your modem, then it won't work.
Unplug the modem. Remove its backup battery. Replace the battery and plug it in and restart the computer and then to into my network places and choose the option to connect to the internet.

My dell d600 wont open web page but is connected to internet

    Perform the Internet Explorer setup:

1- Open Internet Explorer and go to [Tools] and [Internet Options]
    2- Click on "Connections" tab
3- Click on button that says "Setup" and follow the on-screen instructions

If the above doesn't work and your Internet Explorer worked in the last couple days, make sure your browser has not updated to the new Internet Explorer 8 version.
If you have another computer at this location, check if that one can connect to the internet and surf the web
If the above doesn't work (or is not available), your next option is to perform the "System Restore"
1- go to [Start], All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, System Restore
2- choose restore my computer to an earlier time and click next
3- choose a date when you last remember internet explorer working and on the window beside it (to the right) choose from the list either "system check point" or something that may be related to updates or Internet explorer (if nothing else, choose System check point)
4- Click next and after the restart, the computer will tell you if it restored successfully.
5- remember, you can only restore to the dates that are in "bold"

Let us know how it goes and rate us. :)

Kodak 5100 all in one printer, 3802 code

You need to contact kodak and ask for a replacement print head, explain the code and whats been happening.

    www.kodak.co.uk or www.kodak.com

They will probably tell you to download new drivers and wash your printhead ect ect but nothing that helps.

I had the same problem with the same printer.

I couldn't get Kodak to send out a printhead, so after weeks of messing around, I took it back for a refund.

If you do manage to get a new printhead here are the instructions on how to remove and replace it.
