Re: shutting off

Its defective. While your talking it thinks there is no conversation & enters sleep mode.

yes, I know the exact problem....The boom mike is a little loose at the swivel. Once it gets loose it does exactly what you are describing. Once it becomes loose like that it's kind of annoying but still usable. You need to squeeze the headset at the pivot.
So you open the boom and squeeze the pivot right in the middle. (One finger right in the middle of the pivot and the other finger on the outside of the headset by the buttons) you will feel it move just a hair and everything starts working again.
After a while you have to do this squeeze every time you open the boom.Let me know how well this works

H700 won't play music thru bluetooth

Pushing in the button (I don't know what you mean by "the middle button" when there is only one button on the H700) it starts the voice dial feature. It will listen for a second and then tell you with a beep that it did not recognize the name. That is your cue to try again. When it does not recognize it again in a couple of seconds ti shut off. The H700 was not designed to use to listen to music on your phone with. If you want to do that you need to purchase something like the Motorokr Blue Tooth unit.

Is H700 compatible with the iPhone?

Here is a straightforward procedure to "pair" the Motorola H700 bluetooth headset with an iphone

1. Turn off the headset by folding the microphone.
2. On your iphone, go to settings-->General-->Bluetooth-->tap tp turn ON
3. To activate your headset, hold down the center button and keep it pressed while you fold out the microphone.

The iphone will immediately detect the device and state "not paiired"
Ignore this message and go ahead and tap on the headset menu displayed on th eipjone screen. You will e prompted fot a security code. Please enter 0000. The iphone will confirm that the devices have een paired successfully.
You arer done! To verify, try placing a call from the iphone and you will see a new menu on iphone asking you to choose the headset H700 or speaker phone.
Step 3 is the most important step in getting the two devices to talk.

Purple light will not stay lit

I signed up JUST because this solution worked:

"Hmm this may sound like a stupid solution that doesnt work but what i did is...,

#1 I Held the button to make the violet light go on
#2 when the violet light is on dont just flip the boom mic, flip* the earpiece with it.

*note: when fliping the mic and earpiece, dont open slowly, flip it open fast and keep it there." I do want to note that my passcode was reset to nothing during my 3 months of troubleshooting.

Not going to mess with it.

5 Steps
First, CLOSE your boom
Second, Hold the talk button( about 5 secs it should turn to purple color)
Third, DO NOT release the button while opening your boom
Fourth, your BT should be in discover mode( show the steady light not flashing )
Fifth, open your phone bluetooth and search for device. Choose your bluetooth that appeared on the list ( pair code normally "0000" ).

My Motorola h700 bluetooth will not pair

Rest assured that the drop did not cause this.  There is a general problem with these H700's.

Press the multifunction button until the led turns purple.  Keep it pressed in while you flip the arm open.  The arm needs to be kept fully extended to keep it in pairing mode.  If you succeed in positioning the arm correctly, a steady blue light will be on.  If the light goes off...close the arm and try again.

While in this mode...execute the pairing procedure from your should find the H700.  The default key is "0000".

Connecting my H700

If you have it paired with another device, shut that device down first.  With the boom closed on the headset, hold the center button down until it turns a steady purple, then open the boom on the headset.  Then click on find device through your Blackberry.  Enter code 0000.  It should work for you then.

How to do pairing

Thank you. I called a 1-800 number for tech support but they told me I had to wait 14 days from the date of purchase before they could help me. Your suggestion was right on the money. Thank you.

Problem with Blackberry Pearl 8100

Place the unit headset back in pairing mode by holding the call button for 1 to 5 seconds until the light turns purple. Then open the boom. Then try to reconnect .
