Depending on the age of the microwave, your magnetron might be burned out. This is the component that heats and most models have a 3 - 5 year warranty on this part. Check your instruction manual. If it is not still under warranty, then it is too costly to repair with the prices of microwaves coming down.

After approx a minute a regular squeak begins, occasionally missing a beat.Heating is fine.

If the "frequency" of the squeaking is a low frequency, the I would suspect the turntable motor or stirrer motor (if so equipped).

If it is a higher frequency, I would suspect the cooling fan or hood fan motor.

No heat - everything else works

Sounds like the magnetron has failed. This is the component that produces the microwaves that heats the food.

The cost of the magnetron is about 95% of the cost of a microwave oven. Most people don't, for this reason, replace the magnetron, they replace the whole oven which is probably what you will end up doing.

There is a possibility that the circuit that provides power to the magnetron is faulty and you need to take it apart, find the proper electrical leads and test them with a volt meter. To do this you have to remove it from its mounting and take it apart. It is a fairly lengthy process however.

Everything appears to work fine but it is not heating anymore.

If the microwave oven appears to be working but it is not heating the food, it is very possible that the magnetron, or its power supply has failed.

Microwave appears to work fine but will not heat at all.

Sounds like the thermal protector on the mag tube quit. It may have gotten too hot and opened up. That is the lesser of all the evils that can happen to a Microwave.
