Question about Washing Machines
Sandy, this is a confusing question. Let me explain. Your topic is Generic Problem for Washing Machines. You question is downloading something from a printer.
What kind of washing machine printer is this that you have and where can I get one???
Ok, fun at your expense over.
Sandy, your printer cannot scan your cookbook. If you have a so called "all in one" device, that is a different thing. A 'all in one' device will print, scan, copy and maybe FAX documents.
If this is the case, you will become familiar with TWAIN technology. TWAIN stands for Technology Without A Interesting Name and is the technology used in scanning devices.
If you can scan on your all in one, you will need to do so from within your computer. Run your TWAIN compliant software (that you loaded when you installed your device). When you do this, the software will identify the scanner and walk you through the steps. It will have a "scan" button and a "save" button at a minimum. It will ask you quesitons like "is this a picture", "is this a document", "is this a drawing". The purpose of these questions is to determine the best pre-sets for the finish product, which of course you shuld be able to edit at some level.
Your scanner may copy your document as a picture. If this happens, you will have a picture of words, but you will not have a document that you will be able to edit in a word processor.
Having said all of that, if you have a printer, you can't scan and you are better off typing the recipe into your word processor to start with. You can also type this into your e-mail program and save or print it or cut and paste into a word processor or other aplication.
May I suggest also, if you have a scanner, your manufacturer probably has a short video at the website that will explain the exact steps for your device. I might suggest looking at www.maytagprinters.com - I'M KIDDING with this web site ... I made it up ;-)
Sandy, I hope this information has been of some help for you on this Saturday Afternoon.
