Explorer Strum Circuit Shorted Out

During play I experienced an electric shock from the strum button on my explorer guitar (wired) and now the strum button doesn't work. Is it possible to obtain a new strum button circuit board ?
These guitars are most difficult to find and the wireless appears to be highly problem ridden.
Any help would be most appreciated.

I noticed that every time I buy new PS2 Dual Shock 2 it only last for 3 months because I play to much almost everyday then when I try to open the black wire of the dual shock the colored wires some...

Hi, This is happen because : 1. You may bought a non original controller. 2. You may always engage the vibration function. Sony dual stick controller ( analog stick) has fine cables inside controller. The imitation ones even smaller. While you use the vibration function for long time, it make some cables apart.
Suggestion :- Use only original dual stick controller ( analog stick). Don't engage vibration function for long time - I believe you can reconnect the wires inside controller ( so just fix it yourself) and play..

Buttons A and B interfering with each other

They are "shorted" internally, either physically or electronically (through, for instance, static electricity). If the unit ever got wet, it is probably the first.

Since it's pretty useless as it is, you might want to open it up and take a look. (I've opened and even modified many of these.) I think there is one screw that is under the label, so this violated warranties, etc., but if it is covered by warranty, I'd get it fixed that way. I think there are four other small screws.

When you open it, some buttons will be loose. No big problem, but remember where they go. Then look at the electrical contacts where the A and B button touch. Is there grime or dirt? Perhaps a film left by a water accident? If so, you can get a Q-tip dipped in isopropyl alcohol (inexpensive at any drugstore) and rub moderately hard to clean it. Then let it dry and see if it helped. If you have a multimeter you can also check to see whether the A contacts or shorted to the B contacts. One from each will be shorted together. That's because they share a common connection with all the other buttons. But if the other pair is shorted too, that is your problem and you have the first sort of problem and it can probably be repaired by spotting the short and cleaning it as I described.

My strum bar for Guitar Hero 3 isn't working anymore !!! We powered everything off and back on and checked the connections. We still have the problem. Any ideas ?

Try going to "" Activision is only the distributor, and fix it. redoctane will. They're a little sticky on their "guidelines" for the warranty though. They want the original receipt. I can't find the receipt 5 minutes after I get home. Let alone 2 months later. If you still have it you're golden. If not try arguing with them, they'll probably fix it for you. apparently it's an on going problem they're having. Good luck

( 97% on cult of personality on hard with strumming only up. so im sure the buttons are fixed.)

You have a bad control, in this case. Go to RedOctane's site for warranty service:

If you should actually be using the Rock Band Fender Stratocaster control, it will not work with Guitar Hero and, furthermore, this issue has been reported to exist with early runs of this control. Rock Band issues can be resolved here:

The strum button is uncontrolable

Hey Omega,

Seems like the controller may just be faulty.

The only thing I can think of, is to turn off the console, and then make sure none of the buttons are being pressed when starting it up, and then turn it on. If it's still doing it, I recommend getting a new controller.
