If I have any amount of coffee in the filter, even a tiny amount not packed at all, I cannot get any water through my machine. It sounds as though the pump goes on and off. But, if I empty out the coffee, but keep the filter on the machine, water comes through. Water also comes through the steamer. I have tried cleaning whole machine with vinegar. I have also tried pulling water through the steamer outlet to prime the pump. Works fine, until I put in coffee. These has been an amazing machine for 2 years. Love some help to fix it.

The ultimate fix for this was to replace the cup that holds the coffee. No amount of descaling provided the fix, including the recommended descaling product above. The cup was about $25, and the machine has been working every since I replaced it, about 2 years.

I had the same issue, the pressure portafilter needs to be replaced. I recommend the saeco barista non pressurized portafilter. I have had it 5 years so far and never an issue. I bought mine on E-bay and saved about $10.00

First, if water comes out of the wand while you are brewing coffee then the valve has a problem, it might need to be replaced or the pressure buildup is forcing water through. Remove the shower screen and screw in the head and clean, then descale the machine using Scalekleen, vinegar is no the best thing for descaling the machine.

I have the same problem, water flows through the machine ok until I put coffee in, then it the water won't flow through. Does this need de-scaling? is that the problem?

Cuisinart model DCC-690. Water filter for it please?

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble finding replacement water filters for your Cuisinart DCC-690 coffee maker.
After some research, it appears that the DCC-690 model does not have a specific water filter that is designed to fit it. However, Cuisinart does offer a universal water filter that can be used with any of their coffee makers.
The Cuisinart DCC-RWF replacement water filter is a universal filter that is compatible with all Cuisinart coffee makers that have a water filter. It is designed to remove impurities from tap water, such as chlorine, calcium, and other minerals, to improve the taste and quality of your coffee.
You should be able to find this filter on Cuisinart's website, or at a retailer that sells Cuisinart coffee makers and accessories. It is important to note that the filter should be replaced every 60 days, or after brewing 60 pots of coffee, whichever comes first.
I hope this helps!

Why is my coffee weak?

If it is a drip maker, only gravity drives the hot water thru the coffee grinds. If the coffee is ground too fine, it immediately packs up and doesn't let water flow thru it and the water flows around the coffee instead of thru it.
Try using a coarser grind, and if not you can use a lot smaller amount of coffee and water. A smaller amount of coffee is easier to diffuse thru than a large amount.

Another thing is to slow down the water speed entering the coffee basket. I found the best way to do that is to use water just above freezing and place that extra cold water in the reservoir. The cold water takes extra time to be heated up by the coffee maker so less water is released over the coffee grinds per minute.

If your coffee maker overflows a lot, that is a good indicator that the grind is too fine and/or your coffee filters are too flimsy and are plugging up the channels in your coffee basket and the coffee can't enter the flask, so it overflows.

But the easiest way to check out your coffee maker is to use extra cold water and just run half batches (5 cup) of coffee instead of 10 cup

Clean light

Hello -

Regarding any coffee maker - some of the water in the reservoir is turned into steam during the brewing process resulting in a smaller volume of brewed coffee.

As for the Clean notice, it may just mean that the coffee filter basket needs to be cleaned. We wash ours every time after we brew coffee. Coffee residue builds up in the filter basket during use.

Best wishes.

I need a replacement filter for my kenmore coffee maker item#69768

If anyone is looking for the Kenmore Coffee Water Filter model 69768 - Sears / Kmart re-branded the filter under the Cuisinart name making them near impossible to find under the Kenmore name. HERE is the link to order them under the Cuisinart name at SEARS (its the EXACT same filter and they come 2 to a pack)

Keeps spilling over during brewing

These tanks can't actually be overfilled since all water poured in displaces the exact same amount of water coming out the spout. So, whatever amount of water you pour in, will be the same amount of water that flows to your pot minus the amount absorbed by the coffee grounds and filter.

Your problems sounds like an undersized (Non Bunn) filter, or clogged brew basket. To verify this, try pouring in only half the water for your brew cycle and wait for it to finish dripping, then pour in the rest. If no overflow has occurred, you simply have the wrong type of filter. If overflow begins again, you have a clogged brew basket, since no Bunn can flow too fast for the brew basket to keep up with it.

This is because Bunn filters are manufactured differently than generic store bought paper filters. They will flow faster, brew cleaner and stand up better than normal generic filters.
Remember, Bunn makes their OWN filters for good reason.
They made the first, best paper filters for drip coffee pots, and all others are just generic dioxin gas producing paper.

Briel Apollo no water when making espresso

Check that the water tank is seated properly. When you lower it in place just give it a little nudge down to make sure its slotted into the catch.

Pressure but no water

Hi,

Make sure your filter is clean, take the filter and head it to light. If it is clean then you can see a little hole in the midle.
