    microphone does not work

  • mrisebastien Jan 11, 2009

my microphone worked until 2 days ago!!!
nothing to do, re-installed 2 times( 1 disk, 1 MS website),
sound bar drops to the bottom, if I raise it, it drops again!

This solution does not work for me. On Windows XP with VX-6000
When I run the Sound Hardware Test Wizard, the volume drops down to the bottom, and if I try to slide the volume up, it maxes out and slides back down.
When it runs the speaker test, the microphone volume flickers up, maxes out, then immediately after the playback volume maxes out, and the speakers buzz, until the microphone volume slides back down.. this repeats..

Even after sorting it out in control panel it still doesn't work. The sliders don't move but the mic doesn't work.

I can't seem to get my microphone to work. Every other sound is working.

You do not say what sort of mic you have - if its a built in laptop mic, a standalone mic or one built into the webcam.
It would also be useful to know what your OS is and what chat program you want to use the mic in
However we can generalise and hopefully put you on the right track
