You have a clog in the hose that leads fromthe dirt collection point to the collection depository. Clear the clog and you will be picking up dirt before you know it.

You may have to remove one or the other or both ends of the hose to do this.

You may have some success using another vacuum to **** the dirt backward out of the hose.

Good luck

My Hoover upright will not pick up dirt when vacuumed over the carpet. It makes the path over the dirt like it should do without picking up.

You need to check the brush at the bottom of the machine, it is belt driven and the belt tends to break, you could replace the belt yourself, if that is the problem.

I have the bagless hoover windtunnel and it doesn't pick up anything and it is very hard to push. Changed the belt and The rollers are spinning and the filter has been changed. What else can I do?

It sounds like there are dirt and hair wound around the wheel axels cousing them not to spin freely. You have to remove all hair and carpet fiber. Then drop a drop of lubricant oil on the axel.
Change the filter.
You should even Check the floor nozzle for clogged dirt.

Hoover windtunnel dirt finder light stays red. We've cleaned the elbow the roller the hose and have a clean bag. The vacuum is new only had it for 3 months.

I'm not sure about a 3 month old vac, I'd probably go the warranty route. However, for the older vacs thy start getting false positives. The sensor is simply a microphone hooked to a computer chip detecting sounds of dirt entering the bag.
To rig it to start working, you'll need to remove the tool accessory tray and elbow that enters the back of the vac, and attached to the bag. This will reveal the microphone at the elbow, and wire that runs into the bottom area of the vac. When on, a large amount of air comes from the bottom screw and area where the wires enter. My fix was to clean up the microphone contact points a little bit with a screwdriver, and then leave the vac running while putting in dampering in the hole at the bottom, and around the back of the elbow. Cotton balls and electrical tape at the bottom hole, and napkins around the outside of the elbow (wedged between the back of the vac assembly and elbow did the trick). The schematic for the vac is here: http<colon>//www<dot>vacsrus<dot>com/CartGenie/pg_U6485900<dot>asp
Look for micrphone.

I have a hoover spinscrub 800. It washes great

in some cases when this happenes it's usually from a really bad filter or the squeege at the bottom of the nozzle. the squeege is what makes contact with the floor and suctions all of the water up. to take off. take off the nozzle and there will be (3) screws inside of the nozzle. once these screw are removed, the squeege can be removed. at hoover.com the replacement part # is 93001094. ( according to model # H3060 )

Hoover Tempo Widepath Blows Dirt Out Back on Hard Surfaces

lots of times switching to hard surface floors you need to slow down because the air flow that does the actual picking up of the dirt can't work as fast as the spinning brush so the brush is throwing the dirt out the back before the suction can pick it up. Try slowing down

I have a dyson hoover. up to last week it worked fine. now it will not hoover up bits!!! i have to keep taking the long attahcment off and using that instead which is not ideal!! hubby has checked...

Check the inspection air tubes on the Dyson - you don't say what model this is - and each model does have air inspection tubes but can be different to each model - which can usually clog up with dirt/debris thus making the machine difficult to pick up. Certainly sounds like there is some kind of clog between the main dust channel from the sole plate/floor head where the roller brush is.

My Hoover FloorMate 801 will not pick up water after the floor has been moped. The filter is clean.

Check the inspection hoses - especially the hose from the floor head to the main water tank - sounds like there is a clogged piece of dirt getting in the way as well as the main floor brush.

Hoover H3000 Floor Mat
I have a H3000 Floor Mat the problem is it won’t pick up the water after the scrub clean the floor. What could be the causing the problem?

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
The problem could be that the Hoover H3000 Floor Mat could be clogged or something is blocking the suction port or you may have a pinched line of some type of which would cause it to not pickup, feel free to check with a local vacuum dealer in your area or in the yellow pages or the Hoover factory phone number is listed below:

Hoover z400 clogged

There should be a bottom plate covering the brush roll that you can remove, if you can't dig out the what is in there, try using your hose and suck it out from the bottom, maybe you will be able to get it out.
