Hi
Error 6A00
The 6A00 is a Canon generic code for paper path jam.

Solution 1:
Move the printhead carriage back and forth a few times.

Solution 2:
Check the purge unit: Moving the print head assembly will not clear a purge unit if its jammed with paper, paper clips, push pins, screws, cookie crisp, flower bud pods or the like.

Solution 3:
Press the ink pads down in the purge unit.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

6A00 is AP position error.
First, make sure there is no paper jam anywhere in the machine.. look inside, rear, where the paper tray (output) is, etc to see if you find any shreds or torn paper that may have gotten stuck and you didn't see.Look carefully in the zone of Purge unit, using flashlight in the right side on printer. If this not help your printer need service.

Error code 6a00 will not print or anything, no paper james, all wipers seam to be in place, but I have no lights on my ink tanks when I replace them, we did have a lighting storm the other and lost power,...

When the cartridge assembly is positioned for use, it's all the way to the right. If that assembly is out of the way, there's a spring-loaded cover underneath which can be slide aside, and you can take a paper towel and blot up extra ink in that area. That has solved the probelm for me many times.

6A00 error

The error seems to indicate a failed sheet feed, check the paper path to see for any stuck bits of paper, however I have heard that this can also be caused by a flaky sensor in the paper path.....

apparently the best way to deal with this is to turn it upside down and give it a shake.

hope this helps

Error Codes 6A00 and 5C10

I tried everything suggested on other posts (cleaning paper feeds and making sure rollers were free, moving carriage back and forth manually, etc)., but nothing worked. With it still plugged in, I turned the whole thing upside down and shook it. It hummed and buzzed, and moved the carriage a couple of times. Viola, problem solved. Go figure.
