Question about Logitech Z4 Speakers

1 Answer

The speakers to my Z4 system were broken. The sub-woofer is still intact so is the remote. I was curious if it would be possible to purchase the speakers separately, and if so how much would it cost. I live in Poland so shipping inside the US may prove to be difficult.

I have a Fisher RS-909 Surrond Sound amplifier. It has no "sub out" jack. I had the sub-woofer working in the past by wiring it as shown in the manual. The problem is that the system was in...

Alright i had a chance to look over things, this is how you are going to hook up the sub. first we'll be connecting the surround sound unit to the sub woofer.
surround sound unit sub woofer
left front: positive (+) <-----to------------->(+) left speaker level in
negative ( - )<- - -to- - - - - - ->( - ) left speaker level in

right front: positive (+) <-----to------------->(+) right speaker level in
negative ( - )<- - -to- - - - - - >( - ) right speaker level in

now that the surround sound unit is connected to the sub woofer you will need to connect the front surround sound speakers to the sub woofer.
sub woofer front surround sound speaker
left speaker level out (+)<-----to--------> (+) left front speaker
left speaker level out( - ) <- - - to- - - - ->( - ) left front speaker

right speaker level out (+)<-----to--------> (+) right front speaker
right speaker level out( - ) <- - - to- - - ->( - ) right front speaker

Alright now that the wires are all over the place and plugged in
turn everything on and see how it sounds. let me know if everything is working as it should. if you need help with anything else or if something does not seem right please feel free to contact me via e-mail or phone

My subwoofer doesn't receive power, all amp fuses are fine, amp powers on, remote wire and rca wires are connected and intact. Before it stopped working all together the woofer would cut out and after...

If you are getting power to the amp, try this....Find a small speaker, unhook your sub and wire speaker to amp. Turn on your system at a low volume....If the other speaker is playing through amp, then your sub is shot.....If the small speaker doesnt work, then its either your channel is gone on the amp or the rcas have quit off off your head unit.

I need a replacement for my logitech z-2300 speaker wired remote control. How and where can I get one?

To the two people with problems. This sounds a bit odd, but do you still have the broken remotes? I'm looking for a broken one. I'd pay shipping and throw a few bucks your way if you could send it to me.

Hi I own a Technics Hi-Fi system (Model SC-EH780) and would like to attach a subwoofer to it. I cannot find the subwoofer unit that is supposed to go with this system. Can you help?

Any powered sub-woofer will work with it. Check the back of the Technics, make sure there is an RCA output labeled "Sub-woofer" or "Woofer" or "Sub". If so, you can get any brand of powered sub woofer and it will work. A powered sub-woofer is one with an amplifier for the sub built into the box and you will need to plug it into an A/C outlet as well. The only exceptions to what will work with this unit is to make sure you are not buying a sub-woofer that is made to only work with the companion unit it is originally sold with. Many Panasonic and JVC sub woofers are like this. Just look for a sub-woofer that is not part of any system. Velodyne makes some really great sub-woofers that would work nice with yours, but they can be a little expensive, but they are very good.

If your Technics has no RCA output for the sub-woofer, you will need to make sure that whatever powered sub-woofer you buy has a speaker level input for it. Most powered sub-woofers have this feature, so that you may just run the front speaker outputs of the receiver into the subwoofer and then the sub-woofer will have a set of speaker outputs right below the speaker inputs so you can still have your front speakers connected to that and not loose anything from your system.

I hope I have explained this in a manner you will understand easy, if not just post whatever questions you may have right on this thread and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

It would also be appreciated if you could rate this solution if you no longer need any help from me. If you do require more help, please wait to rate this until we are finished. That way I do not get an undeserved bad rating when we have not even finished our communications.
By the way, A "Thanks for trying" and "Helpful" rating are really not good, they always end up lowering my overall score.

JVC TH-M606

You need to take apart tthe sub woofer and check the connection to bass speaker for continuity. It sounds like an internal broken connection to speaker on sub woofer unit.

Problem w/shelf system stereo system!!!!!!!!1

You say that the fault lies in the sub-woofer speaker....

You will need to remove the back panel of the speaker box and make a visual examinatiojh of the contents there just may be an overload fuse there that you can replace your self...there may be a broken wire if the Sub-Woofer has been dropped...

There may be a capacitor or choke that has come loose from its mounting and in falling broken a wire,,,but please have a good look to see whats gone wrong inside the sub-woofer cabinet.

If you like you could take the backs of both the right and left
sub-woofer speaker boxes then visually compare the good one with the faulty one so you can see if there is any physical difference on the faulty one...if they both look the same then you willl need to do some testing with a multimeter set to Ohms to see where the break in continuity lies...just compare readings between the good one and the faulty one to find the fault..

Cheers From YUBEUT..
