I have a whirlpool water heater, changed the elements for the first time. I turn the electricity on before the tank was full of water. I am scared I broke it.

there is no problem as long as the elements were immersed in the water
the unit does not have to be full before it works

Element turns on even if door is open. at end of drying cycle drum shuts down but element stays hot

Your problem is usually caused by a bad/broken heating element. What happened is the element broke or burned apart at some point and the broken end has grounded against the dryer body. Instead of the power going through the control system and shutting off the heater, the power is going through the broken part of the heater and then to the dryer body with no shut off point like a direct circuit. Probably needs heater replaced. Could also be one of the controls stuck but usually the 1st problem I stated..

Heater is on when moter is not

You have a failed heater in the unit. What has happened was your heater has broke and grounded at the same time. I would need a model number to assist you further. Good luck
You can go to your local part house and purchase a new heater or element, although I would suggest you replace the heater and installing the element can be a pain if not installed correctly.

I’m happy to help further over the phone at

I have a master 165,000 air forced heater it burns kerosene/diesel an it says multi has been a very good clean burning heater,an now when it cuts[ off ] it blows out white smoke ,an now it does...

it should take care of the problem for you.... but if it does not... then you need to tear your pump apart and clean the reeds in the little black wheel inside your pump.... the 4 reeds should freely slide up and down in that little black wheel they are in... if they are not moving very well, if not at all then your not pumping any air to pick up your fuel

Krups Sensotoast Deluxe -- Stopped working!!! Checked outlet. Not the problem.

Did the same to me
The ceramic heater to wire connection broke off
not a prayer of fixing it
The heating elements are in a series circuit, so as goes one element, so goes both elements.

Top heating element was broke. Replaced got hot water for week. Now have to run hot water for 20 mins before it goes from warm to hot. Top heating element reads 240VAC bottom heating element reads...

look for a badly connected power line ont he bottom element, or any connection upstream of the power terminals. voltage readings usually drop to that range when you only have one side of the 220v circuit connected.

Hi, The element broke and shorted out against the metal on the dryer. The thermostat did not cause the element to break and will still be ok. You replace the element and you should be ok.
I hope this helps you. Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Drying is not heating up.

try replacing thermal fuse. its cheaper than the heater element. this fuse blows when there is restricted air flow over the heating element. meaning clogged vent. you can ohm out this fuse. fuse is located at top left of heater duct with two wire leads going towards it. if its ok then remove heating element and look at coils. usually you can see one broke

Water is no longer hot

A heating element is either good or bad and no inbetween. If your unit has two elements, then one of the elements is bad. If it is a single element unit then the thermostat has gone bad. Do a voltage check to see if you have power going to both elements and if you do then do a ohms test on the elements. They shoudl read 5 to 10 ohms. If one of them doens't, then you know it is bad. If by chance check the elements and everything is working, the only thing that can be left is that the dip tub has ruptured somewhere close to the top of the outlet. But I would put my money on a bad element.

yes, it will. you should be able to take off the panel on the bottom of the front of the dryer. way in the back is the heating element. do not put your hands in there with the power on, but start the dryer and look in there and you will see if the heating element comes on. it will be like looking inside your toaster.
