I have a dell inspiron 1705 bought a new battery put it now it says no battery detechted what do i need to do

The battery needs to be calibrated from the setup. I this doesn't work, then ask for change of battery

Hi. Blinking orange light on battery indicator means it's charging. To make sure, point your mouse to the battery icon on the Taskbar located on the lower right-hand corner of your screen...near the system time and speaker icons. It should say plugged in, charging. If you see "plugged in, not charging, then you need to call Dell Phone Support for additional help.

There should be a built-in microphone.

see if this works

Control Panel >Hardware and sounds > Sounds > Select speakers and headphones and click ok.

It won't charge or work correctly if it's not the correct one and of the right voltage etc.I don't know how the battery even went in if it's not the Dell specified battery.If it went in and looked to fit maybe the battery itself is bad but its hard to say.

There are different types of Dell power adapters, some of them put out different amounts of power. While it is possible that the battery is faulty, it is more likely, given your error message that the adaptor is wrong. If you got it from Dell, you can call them and they will exchange it.

Check the powers supply for output voltage, as it could be faulty. You should also make sure that the DC plug to DC jack connection is good.

While the notebook is TURNED OFF completely, try rubbing some isopropyl alcohol on the leads within the laptop that touch the battery with a cotton swab, could be that the leads are dirty.
