Question about Kensington PocketMouse Pro 72117 Wireless 113227

2 Answers

I can't locate the receptacle for the batteries. I have had the mouse for a few years and haven't used it for about 12 months. In the meantime, can't locate the area for the batteries. The opening on the side is too small even for AAA's and as I recall it uses AA's. Even my 9 year old son, who can usually diagnose all of my tech issues, is baffled.

The mouse is powered by two AA batteries found under the mouse shell, which is released by a spring-loaded, slotted latch on the underside of the mouse. A coin or thumbnail will suffice to turn the latch counter-clockwise about 45 degrees to release the back, which then pops off revealing the battery compartment.

I would check to see if you are getting 12 volts at the starter. You should have one wire coming from the ignition that gets system voltage when you turn the key to the start position. You'll also have one from the battery that will be hot all the time.

Hi Melissa,
Check the batteries in the mouse itself, see that they haven't dislodged in the move, and make sure the mouse can find the sensor from the USB port. Let me know if that works. If not, I'll ask my son, he's a genius when it comes to that, he gave me his old Logi USB mouse cuz my old one failed too..
Hope this helps

Gucci 8400m watch not working. I haven't used it for years and it only ticks when i shake it. As soon as i stop shaking it it stops working.

This watch is a swiss quartz model and runs on a small battery located inside the case.

These batteries normally only last approximately 2-3 years and then must be replaced.

You can bring the watch into any decent jewellery store and they will probably be able to replace the battery for you for less than $20 inclusive.

Here are some links to a few short videos which demonstrate the basic process of changing the battery in a watch:

Just use your mouse to click on the links, which are the underlined and highlighted text just above. This will open a new web browser page automatically for you and allow you to view the information and videos indicated.

Please comment back here to this page if you have any details to add, have any questions, have difficulty accessing the links, or just require further general assistance and I will respond as soon as I see it.

I hope that was helpful to you, good luck and take care.

The light is supposed to go dim after few seconds. it's not lit all the time. So it works propperly.

2 of my arc mouses stopped working too after 6-12 months and i got new ones but now after 4 months with the new ones, they failed too.

The problem is within connection between USB-device and mouse. the USB device gets overheated and destroys it self in extensive use.

Get it back to store and swap it to new one.

The red laser pointer underneath the mouse isn't coming on? put new batteries in and the receiver is showing the green light once plugged into my laptop.

I doubt the problem is the battery. I have this same mouse and it has worked beautifully for two years now EXCEPT for one problem: most of the time, the mouse does not turn on when the receiver is removed from the receptacle on the bottom of the mouse. There is a tiny little switch built into that receptacle, along the side wall of the receptacle not far from the light. I have to wiggle this little switch (gently!) by hand a few times until the light comes on. From that point, the mouse will work fine until the receiver is placed back in the receptacle.

Optical mouse no longer works

I doubt the problem is the battery, and you do NOT have to press the Connect button each time you use the mouse - it will connect all by itself if it can. The Connect button is only used to re-establish connection if for some reason it cannot connect automatically.

Wireless connections are not reliable. One solution is to buy a wired keyboard and a wired mouse. Depending on where you live, they can be obtained for $10 and last for years.

THERE MUST BE A DEFECTIVE PART IN THE MOUSE BECAUSE YOU SOULDNT HAVE TO CHANGE THE MOUSE BATTERY ONCE EVERY 6 MONTH TO A YEAR, AND THE KB THE SAME 6 MONTHS TO A YEAR.

YOU CAN GO ON LINE EMIAL LOGITECH AND ASK THEM WHAT THE PROBLEM IS, HERE IS THE WEB SITE:
