Sharp DV-RW250 problems transferring video to dvd

My parents have a Sharp DV-RW250 which , over christmas , I used to transfer a whole load of old video footage ..personal and TV .. to DVD . I used DVD-R and for the main part I recorded using the LP ( longplay ) option . I now have these DVDs back with me in Spain and none of them play !! I've tried several DVD players ( mine and friend's ) , as well as trying to play them on a laptop . Any thoughts ?

Check video input setting to DVD recorder...should be set to "External" or "Line". This should activate the video input jacks on the rear of the RDR-VX530 and allow it to "see" your Sony handycam.

Can you record a playing vhs video to a dvd on sharp dv rw250?

Yes, you can do this if you have a VCR that has a channel on the VHS part of the unit that shows your DVD screen (see instruction manual for better explanation). The Sharp unit that you have might have this feature, if not then look at your instruction manual for how to hook up the VCR part of your unit to an external DVD player. Good luck to you!

How to use the usb port on Pioneer DV-410V DVD Player

Dear friends in problem solving.
My husband actually solved this problem by writing in the browser: Manual for Pioneer DV-410V DVD player.
That was available online and there it said that not all formats was supported by the USB port, so we tried to load a movie on a pen drive, insert it in the player and it opened and we just clicked play, so it was actually an issue of having an incompatible video file on the pen drive that made it not open in the first place.

Trouble recording to DVD - connections are not done right - Sharp DVD-RW340

I had to run from the RCA outs of my DVR into the inputs that are on the front right of the RW340...behind the little door.  Now I can easily record from live cable or from my Comcast DVR recorder.  Couldn't get it to work from the backside inputs.
Mine is just the DV RW340 (no U).  And yes, the manual is brutal.  We had to call tech support to find what disc will actually work in the darned thing.
Now my big problem is finding more 4x DV-R disks. Shoulda bought more when Comp USA was clearing them out a few years ago!

I have had great success with Dynex Model: DX-DVD-R25 discs.  And they play equally nicely on my Toshiba DVD player in the livingroom.   I have also given several away to people after I had transfered home videos to DVD and those people all had good results playing the discs that I made on my lowly Sharp Dv-RW340.

Time and Date

you will most likely need to add a title in your video editor to display this, the time and date id are usually overlayed on your camera and can be disabled if need be. the camera uses it's internal clock to imprint the video, this seldom if ever transfers to dvd unless the application you are using supports it and you enable it.

hope this helps,
