Question about Dell 3100MP Multimedia Projector

1 Answer

I can't get the power to turn on in the 3100MP projector (DELL). I plug it in and it is not even powering up. No fan, no power, no light. Is there a fuse or do I need to change the bulb? Do you know what might cause this problem?

Either the fuse burnt out, or the power supply/voltage transformer is bad. You can test it with a voltmeter very carefully not to hurt yourself to see if there is power going to main motherboard.

Dell 3100MP Projector - No Signal Check Cable

Make sure you have the right input source selected. It may be looking for a signal from some input other than the one you're connected to. Beyond that, if it truly isn't seeing the input then you'll need to have the projector serviced.

A couple of things...

If the fan is not working, the lamp will not fire. If you have the owner's manual, it should indicate what the flashing lights mean. Check to make sure that the panels are seated properly. When you replaced the lamp, the outer cover was removed. If that is not seated back 100%, the unit will not work. There are a number of safety "checks" built into the unit to prevent damage and possibly fire as the lamps get really hot.

Check the items above and let us know your progress.
