The sensor colors are normal. If the main light is flashing 10 times when the door reverses it is a sensor problem. Make sure the small light on each one is not flickering ever so slightly. Tweak them a bit to make sure. If the door is reversing when it hits the floor you need to adjust the 'down limit' control on the side of the motor unit. Turn the control in the opposite direction of the arrow printed on the cover. You might also increase the 'down force' control which is on the rear of the motor unit.

First, I made sure there were no obstructions to the sensors. Then, I adjusted the "down limit" switch towards the minus side a little bit and this solved the problem.

SOURCE: My garage door opener won't close the garage door.

Most likely your door sensors have been bumped and are not aligned properly. Make sure they are pointed at one another and the small light on each one is lit and not blinking.

SOURCE: Garage door sensor light on one is green the other

They are doing what they are designed to do. To work properly they must be pointed at one another and to tell when they are aligned the light on the receiving unit turns on.

SOURCE: Door won't close, blinks 10 times, sensor light yellow

Anytime the main light flashes 10 times and the door reverses to the open position it is a door sensor problem or the wiring to them. Nothing else causes this symptom.

Hi Vickie,

The safety beam portion of the garage door opener is set up to stop the door from closing if something (car, person, etc,.) is in the doorway.

When the door is open - if you press the hard wired push button (not the wireless remote) the door will either close until shut completely, or begin to close and reverse direction as soon as you let go of the button. When this happens, it *usually* means that a sensor is blocked - and reversing the door motor. If you try yhtis with the remote the door may not move at all or just bump down and stop.

You should re-align the sensors as described in the link below. Good luck!

The sensor light are different colors

The sensors are seeing something directly in line with the beam between the 2 sensors, or your sensors are not aligned so they point directly at each other.

Garage door will not stay closed - one sensor is showing a green light and the other one is showing an orange light - i have tried to adjust position with no luck

When the two sensors are completely aligned, both sensor will show green lights. Usually the green light is your sending side and the orange/red side is the receiving side. You can measure the distance from the ground on the sending side and then adjust the receiver end to the same to get you in the general ball park and then fine tune it from there.

Your door switch is bad. You can get one at home depot, it's nothing more than a door bell button. Your lights are correct and I bet if you try to close with your remote it works. That also will verify it's a bad button.

DOOR CLOSES MOST OF THE WAY AND THEN OPENS. LIGHT THEN BLINKS TEN TIMES. I NOTICED THAT ONE SAFETY SENSOR IS GREEN AND ONE IS YELLOW. PLEASE ADVISE.

Hi. The sensor with the yellow light is telling you that it is miss-aligned, Usually it only takes getting bumped to knock them out of alignment.
I would slowly turn or adjust the positioning of the sensor.
The one with the yellow light should turn green when it is all the way in line so that the beam is completing it's path.

It's out of adjustment, so the sensor is looking at it like there is an object blocking the door from closing.
It's called the obstruction sensor.
It's there as a safety feature, so that the door doesn't come down and smash anything in the opening.

I hope this helps you out.

Garage door light beam one green the other yellow - light on yellow does not go out even when you block the beam

For Genie openers, normal operation is: when you block the beam, green light on one side stays on, while the red light on the other side flashes. The side with the green light is just a "dumb" infrared (invisible) light source; it doesn't know or care what happens to the beam. The other side is the receiver (photocell), and has all the smarts, so knows when the beam is broken, flashes (or turns off) its light, and sends appropriate signal to the opener to prevent or reverse door closing. I'm sure Chamberlain works basically the same way. The colored (visible) lights are to aid in setup (aiming), and for verifying operation.

Chamberlain garage door will not close

See if both sensors stay lit until the door reaches the closed position.

If either light is off or flickers the door will go back up. Try aiming the eyes very carefully. If they are aimed properly. Check the wiring if you move the wires and the light flickers you have a bad connection. If the lights don't come on you may have a broken wire.

If it were your sensors the main light would flash 10 times. What I think your problem is the door is traveling too far in the down direction. You can correct this by adjusting the 'down limit' which is on the side of the motor unit. Turn this control a couple turns in the opposite direction of the arrow printed on the cover. Some tweaking will be necessary.

Left Sensor has yellow led & right sensor is green. Garage closes and then immediately opens. I'm assuming it's the sensor with the yellow led. How do I fix this?

If the main light flashes 10 times when the door reverses it is a sensor problem. Make sure the door isn't hitting the floor and then reversing. This problem will not cause the light to flash 10 times and can be corrected by adjusting the 'down limit' which is on the side of the motor unit.
