Melrosebanjo, Your monitor will need to have some work done on it's "switch-mode-power-supply" and /or "INVERTER" circuit. After you view some vids at YOUTUBE that deal with replacing bad electrolytic filter capacitors and detecting poor quality intermittant solder joints. Search for vids of "LCD monitor repair" "LCD monitor disassembly" !! Learn what are the major causes of LCD BLACK screen problems. Learn the difference between BLACK AND BLANK screens. Read some of my other posts in my profile. then repost with additional comment here on fixya. also visit www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm. and www.lcdparts.com

My LG Flatron L1750S will not come out of "power saving mode" any ideas on how I can fix this problem?

Try it with another PC first, if still not working, then start looking at the power supply DC filter caps first.

LG Flatron - green power led blinks twice

Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed LG monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

LG Flatron L177WSB-how would I use my newly purchased unit after switching it on, LG logo appears followed by the Power Saving Mode it all goes black on the screen.

Hi, the Power Saving Mode, turns the screen off to conserve energy. On the remote, press Menu, and scan to Power Saving Mode. You can change the amount of time, when the Screen turn-off, the TV shut-off etc. You can set the time to (5 min) to, (never, turn-off). This should help with your problem. Thanks paul7of9

LG Flatron L1750S LCD won't display anything...

Hi,

To your concern, a couple of suggestions:
  • if you could try again a reputable electronics service center/shop, pls mention for them to look at the CCF (cold cathode florescent) lamps, the inverter and/or the main board;
  • the blinking light is significant, it could indicate loss of video signal or internal protection kicking in;
  • possibly heat related, check for any of the capacitors bulging or leaking.
If they would reference a service manual or a schematic diagram, pls relay that it is chassis CL-82 for an LG L1750S. Foremost to check would be for the presence of both the 12 and 5 volts,.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

I think your monitor is unstable. Is it showing power saving when you boot your PC? Does it show something when the Windows XP splash appears?
