Question about Washing Machines
If it fills with water and then all you hear is a slight humming sound your direct drive coupling between the motor and transmission is bad. This video will show access and repair of the coupling.
If it fills and stops with no sound at all,the lid switch is bad. To check lid switch,set the timer for final spin and turn it on. If you hear noise the lid switch is OK. If no noise,replace the lid switch.
