Un-hook the chain from the door, and see how hard it is to raise the door. It should be easy, not hard. If it's hard to open by hand, the opener won't do it, and will stop. You can adjust the springs to counterbalance the door so it's easy for the motor to lift it. You may need new springs.

Foot pedal won't stop from automatically running

Your foot pedal, it's like 98% of the rest of them, has a small swing arm that moves back and forth across a line of several metal buttons imbedded into a circuit board. Those small buttons have little prongs that fit through the circuit board material and connect to a small river of solder, so to speak, that in turn is connected to coils of wire. There are many of these small rivers of solder side by side and all connect to different wire coils. The wire coils all have different degrees of resistance to push the electricity on it's way to the main wire that will lead it back out to the wall outlet. Each time you push or let up on the pedal, that little swing arm goes back and forth across those buttons until you stop the pedal, and where you stop the pedal determines the speed at which the sewing machine runs. However, as the arm is traveling across the buttons it makes a small spark as it leaves one and approached the next one, EVERY SINGLE TIME IT MOVES from one to another, there's a spark. Sometimes if the electric service to your home is running on the high side of the 110V - 120V levels it can leave a small, minute, little tail from the arm and it's possible that the arm could become sort of welded, for want of a better word, to one or the other of the buttons, which would make the machine continue to run even after you've released the pressure on the pedal.. If it's plastic you could attempt to dislodge the arm by gripping the pedal with your hand and manually lift and depress it several times. If that doesn't jolt things loose and stop the running you need to either take it to a small repair shop or just buy a new one.

Model # of my garage door 2280-267C serial #26142100151

Check your door springs to make sure one hasn't broken. Then remove the cover off the motor unit and check the drive gear. It is a white nylon gear just in front of the motor. It will be obvious if it is going bad.

Wanye dalton door opener modal 3018. goes up 1 foot and stops

Check your door springs. Usually just over the door and can be seen when the door is closed. A broken spring is the most common cause of this problem.

Door goes up about a foot and stops

The sensors have nothing to do with your door opening. First thing to check are the door springs. One may be broken. Next remove the cover and check the drive gear. It is a white nylon gear just in front of the motor. It may be stripped.

My garage door bucks like a bronco

You have a door problem. The reason the door is reversing to the open position is because when it bucks the safety senses something wrong. Release the door from the opener and operate it by hand. You should find something.
