What IP address are you typing in to your browser, and what do you expect to happen when you do this?
It SHOULD get you to the router management program. You MUST be online when you are doing this, it can not be done offline. Router IP is either http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 depending on manufacturer. Connection should be via CAT-5 cable router to computer. Trying to do initial setup wirelessly can be VERY frustrating, as wireless access is not yet established.

Help configuring my router

Hi Friend,

Please follow the steps in order to resolve the issue:

Make sure you have connected each and every wire/cables to their respective ports/places.

1. Open web browser and type the IP address of the TW100-S4W1CA in the address bar. The default IP address is 192.168.1.1. At the LOGIN, click LOGIN and click on Advanced Setup.
2.Click on WAN and then click Dynamic IP on the left hand side, then select Dynamic IP (Cable Modem) and click on Apply.
3.If your ISP has registered the MAC Address of your computer that you are managing the router from click on Clone MAC Address. This will copy your computers MAC Address to the Router. If you are not managing the computer from the computer with the registered MAC Address make sure you enter the registered MAC Address manually.
4.Click on Apply.

After saving the settings you have to power cycle the modem and router(Turn off the modem and router for 15-30 seconds).

* Reconnect the modem first and wait for it to boot up.
* After the modem has booted up reconnect the Router. Open the web browser and type the IP address of the TW100-S4W1CA in the address bar. The default IP address is 192.168.1.1. At the LOGIN, click LOGIN, then click on Advanced Setup.
* Go to System then Status on the left hand side of the screen
* If there is no WAN IP listed in the WAN section on the right hand side of the screen, click Renew and wait for it to come back with an IP address

I hope this will resolve the issue.

Regards
Chiranjeet

My google chrome is not loading the web page

well there are several things why your google chrome does not work. here are some tips:

check if you have another browser other than google such as internet explorer, netscape, firefox , determine if you have internet access

If it has, then uninstall/ reinstall your google chrome..
If it does not then check your physical connections on your pc
check the lights on the modem / router if it is all lit, if it doesnot , contact your modem/router provider. If it works, then proceed to next step:

Then type the "ipconfig" command on the command prompt by clicking start > all programs > accessories > then click command prompt

if the IP address starts with 0.0.0.0 or 169.xx.xx.xx consult your Internet service provider, if it is 192.xx.xx.xx then proceed to next step:

Type the ip address 192.xx.xx.xx on the internet browser, if it replied , then configure your router settings to make sure that the other ip addresses would work on the internet browser. Then type www.google.com or www.yahoo.com if it work. If symptom persist, consult your internet service provider.

Hope this help....

Hello, i type in the modems address, 192.168.0.1 but it wont let me access the setting page to try to configure wireless settings, i'm running win 7 64 bit, and cant even find a dos command to ping with

To get to the DOS prompt , Go to start and type " cmd" enter. Then you can use the ping utility. I had a problem on a new dsl modem and after many hours trying to fix it, It was a bad modem. It worked for a week then nothing. They finally replaced it and it worked. Some time being new doesn't mean its not broken. I learned it the hard way.fd93cca.png

Will not connect to internet completed all connection but cannot connect to internet

Router's have their usual way for them to work with your preferred Cable / DSL Internet Service Provider.

Cable Internet usually requires a MAC clone and power cycle to work properly while DSL Internet often required a username and password that came with your DSL povider.

If you want to configure your D-Link router then try accessing it Web Interface;

This instruction is for Cable modem installation however if you're using DSL modem then just change the WAN connection type to PPPoE and type your user name and password.

Step 1 Log into the web-based configuration by typing in the IP address of the router (default:192.168.0.1) in your web browser. The username is admin (all lowercase) and the password is blank (nothing).

Step 2 Click the Home tab and click the WAN button. Dynamic IP Address is the default value, however, if Dynamic IP Address is not selected as the WAN type, select Dynamic IP Address by clicking on the radio button. Click Clone Mac Address. Click on Apply and then Continue to save the changes.

Step 3 Power cycle the cable modem and router:
  • Turn the cable modem off (first)
  • Turn the router off
  • Leave them off for 2 minutes**
  • Turn the cable modem on (first)
  • Wait until you get a solid cable light on the cable modem
  • Turn the router on
  • Wait 30 seconds
Step 4 Follow step 1 and log back into the web configuration. Click the Status tab and click the Device Info button. If you do not have a public IP address under the WAN heading, click on DHCP Renew and then click Continue. It may take a few minutes to obtain an IP address.

Hope this helps!
