Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

SOURCE: Western Digital Passport 320gb esternal usb The

LoL uttam109, no way read his question he had data on it already. The drives are GARBAGE. I bought one of these and 3 weeks later it click o death unless it is propped up vertically. It mounts, then dismounts frequently causing my PC to BSOD. I am really REALLY pissed at this device. So my recommendation is find the sweet spot were the drive will spin again and get your data off it, and never use it again.

Accidently uninstalled Western Digital program

google western digital and dowload the drivers again, then reinstall from disc if you have one! (do this with the drive un-plugged) when you then re-boot and plug it in all should come right!

When I plug in my 320GB My Passport Western

It seems your HDs left over portion which is not showing is not formatted for the particular OS in which you are trying to copy. It is advised to backup your HD contents and format the HD with the OS from which you want to take data in the same FAT system which that OS is using.

WESTERN DIGITAL 320GB PASSPORT USB PORTABLE

Doh

After posting the above, I found the answer on another forum about 10 minutes later. The WD drive is formated in FAT 32. My XP PC HDDs are formated in NTFS. FAT 32 has a 4Gb file size limit.

Answer. Format the WD drive in NTFS. It takes about 10 sec to do a quick format, but of course you lose all the content. Then You can copy anything you like to it. I have just copied a 33Gb video to the disc.

Hooking up the WD Passport to a USB enabled CD/DVD player possible?

hmmm...it may just be a capacity and interface issue, with the flash drive being more 'accessible' through the USB interface than the wd passport.

Big issue..is the WD on USB 2.0, and the CD/DVD on USB 1.0?
