I got the TV used. Right when I got it home it worked fine. A couple of days later, it stopped making audio. It doesn't matter whether it is set for an antenna, or any of the vidoe sources, it won't make audio. The video is fine. I have tried a couple of different video devices in all of th einputs but nothing works. I have gone through every section of the mnue and the remote control but can't get it to make a sound. Is there some sort of internal speaker setting or something?

There could be two reasons for not getting any audio.
Firstly. the speakers got disconnected. That you would know better if the TV was subjected to shocks/ thuds etc. Otherwise go to
Secondly. The Audio IC/module is busted. To confirm this, please remove the back cover and take a peep inside. Can you find some bulged or burst capacitors. Capacitor is a round cylindrical thing that keeps jutting out the printed circuit board (pcb). If found then these have to be desoldered and then replaced by exactly the same specification ones. If you cant see any then maybe a professional help would be more appropriate. If the audio module was not out then there would have been some sound some where as you have tried all possible methods of getting audio.

Vizio TV picture doesn't work

I believe the reason you aren't getting audio now is it's not on the right input and with no picture it's hard to adjust. On a Vizio set it could be 2 things, bad LED driver or bad backlights.

Toshiba HD ready TV ct 90158 makes high pitched sound

A high pitch sound can be a capacitor losing power it would sound a bit like a fire work. most have back up on the board but it put more pressure on them the more times you use the tv. would check them and replace. all of them can be 5 in a row in some models.

Rear right speaker doesn't work, no matter what we tried. We switched the speaker and cables with one of the others, but just that position (surround right) doesn't work.

click start control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers make sure you have selected the
(((appropriate speakers))) also audio you will find 3 drop down lists make sure you have the correct settings there also if you have the right ones selected

try swapping the speakers around if the problem still persists either the speaker is faulty
the speakers plug/outlet is usually at the back of the computer you will have to open up the computer to check the lead attached to the rear of the input plug make sure the connection is good
try cleaning your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor making VERY sure that there is no MOISTURE in the air line specifically around the CPU central processing unit and your sound card dust causes static to build up in a computer causing it to overheat any many other problems
hope this helps

No sound from TV thru sony bravia hdx576wf; DVD & CD audio ok.

Could be a sync calibration issue. Try to divert the TV sound to another input source on the Hometheatre system if possible, if it is a go then maybe the TV audio needs to be recalibrated. Make sure TV audio setup menu option has not changed also.

No sound

Maybe the audio amplifiers ICs are damaged.

No audio

9 times out of 10 a TV like that which has no audio is fine and the audio settings are not right or it is a cable box / satellite receiver problem. If you are using cable then connect the cable directly to the TV, tune in an active channel and set the volume about half way. If you do not hear any sound then, using the remote, go into the menu, scroll to the audio page and make sure the speakers are not set to OFF and also make sure the audio is not set to SAP. If you have checked all that and everything is set correctly and you still have no audio, then your audio output IC is probably bad or cracked and should be resoldered or replaced by a qualified tech.
