I am trying to find someone who can repair my Marantz twin deck CD recorder. The recording side of it, apparently needs a new micro switch so that it can be opened by the remote controller. There is no manual way of opening it. The shop that sold it to me has long gone and I can find no-one who can do it. Thanks

If this brand of media is new to you and the symptom is unique to it, I'd try a different brand.
Monitoring during record would never reveal media problems as there is no immediate playback after record as on old-school 3-head tape recorders.
I've had similar intermittent problems and I never could find a pattern to it except that it always seemed to be on low-end media. My best advice would be to try to find a pattern in your instance and make a change that avoids it. Then publish what you learned for us.
your set is damage due to static there are lots of tech in your area look into fixya directory and you will find a tech close you.i recommend that you purchase a new set to repair it will be costly. good luck.
The optics are most likely defective. Yes you will need to replace the optics assembly. I don't have a location for parts outside of the US, but you should be able to locate a parts distributor for Marantz in Europe.
Are you copying a disc you have previously recorded? SCMS will prevent this.
'No disc'on the CDR deck usually means the laser is faulty. Can you hear it spin the disc? When you open the tray has the disc been rotated? The sony's laser is usually reliable. Sony US may have a fixed price repair or you can have a look yourself. I have the service manual should you need it.
