My black dell monitor screen colours have gone all funny its so bad i cant even see a photo ect how can i fix it

If it's an external monitor, turn off the monitor and the computer, unplug the monitor from the computer and plug it back in again and make sure it's in all the way. The crazy colors you are seeing are due to a loose connection someplace. If it's on a laptop, you need to pull the ribbon cable and reseat it and it will fix it. I have worked on Dell laptops that have that problem and it's surprisingly simple to fix.

If it's external and still does that after you pull it out and put it back, then it's time to tear it apart and look for any loose connections on the inside.

Problem regarding laptop screen.

Pehaps the monitor is going or the drivers need to be replace? How old is the laptop, has there been any damage done, drop, jared? I have aHP DV 9320 and I knocked it over on a carpeted floor and the screen went out a ribbon cable jared loose, I open the monitor and fixed it. It could be as simple as adjusting your desktop to "full, Stretch, etc." in Desktop Background settings.

I dropped my computer now my screen is all messed up, I do not see a crack in my screen , what part would i need to fix this

if your screen is messed up, than you'll have to replace the screen. Monitors don't need to be cracked to be broken. Luckily, replacement monitors for laptops can be inexpensive online.

I accidently knocked my laptop on the floor, now it sounds like it is working normally with no problems, but the screen wont turn on. It really seems that the screen is fine, just something got unplugged...

It is possible that it everything else seems to work that the screen ribbon cable has jumped loose however unless you know how to open it up don't.

the simple check is to plug in a known working monitor to see if your laptop is in fact working the way it should if this the the case then its either a visit to a PC shop or an attempt to fix the screen yourself.

My monitor have some lines shooting down from it from to to bottom!! seems like the monitor display is messed up

Hi.
It could be a loose cable, try this >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> gently squeeze the top of the laptop lid and screen between your fingers and work your way along the top, see if the lines disappear, also do the same at the bottom and get back to me.

Good luck

HP Pavilian external monitor color problem.

The easiest thing would be to check your cable for a bent or loose pin. Next put another external monitor on the laptop. The circuitry to provide video to the laptop screen and the external monitor are separate except that they share a video processor and video memory. There can be bad electronics involved.

Lines on screen

The cable that plugs your monitor into your laptop may have come loose. Follow the link below and follow the directions and see if it gets you anywhere. First try to hook up a second monitor. when you plug in the monitor you will have to press Fn + F4 or something along those lines to get the display on both screens. If the lines show up on the second display then it is the computer that is messed up and you will have to replace it or take it to a pro to have this fixed.

Broken screen

You might find a replacement LCD screen on EBay.
Failing that you can connect your laptop to an external monitor, of course you would be desk bound.

LINES ON SCREEN

Laptops have issues all the time with the monitor and the reason is simple. there is a ribbon that connects your monitor to the motherboard and over time from opening and closing the connection gets weak.

From the picture it seems almost like a software glitch. Does this happen on just the desktop or does it happen on everything you open?

If its just on the background I would reinstall your video card drivers.

If its on everything I would still try to reinstall your video card drivers, if not good take it to get service.

---IF YOU HAVE A MONITOR LAYING AROUND--
You have a blue VGA port on the back of your laptop. hook the free monitor up to it and switch your display to that screen. If the problem is following the monitor then you know its either driver issue or your onboard video card is messed up.
