Question about Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ30 Digital Camera

Panasonic DMC FZ30 shutter speed adjustment

Despite my best efforts, I cannot figure out how to manually adjust the shutter speed (allegedly available in Shutter Priority and Manual modes). Sports shooting setting is pre-set at 1/30. I need a much faster shutter speed for sports photos. Help!

How to fix slow shutter speed?

When in Any auto mode or P or A your camera automatically will adjust your shutter speed for ambient light conditions. So if your having issues where your camera is choosing to slow a shutter speed and you photos are coming out blurry then there isn't enough light either because other settings in the camera are limiting light or where ever you are taking photos is poorly lit. Setting your ISO Higher should allow the camera to increase the shutter speed, but will often introduce noise to your photos. The more you play with your camera and learn digital photography the more you'll understand how to make your photos the best they possibly can be. For the time being if getting a no blurr shot is key put your camera in S mode which means shutter priority this will allow you to control and lock your shutter speed and set your ISO to auto this will force the ISO and Aperture to change instead of your shutter speed to get a good photo.

You can usually just "Google", "manual for Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ30" and the results should offer you a manual in .pdf format for viewing, or, downloading.

Can you change the shutter speed on the panasonic dmc zr1 to do proper night shots

the only adjusting available on this model are the ones that appear on screen in shooting mode when you press menu or ok button ..there are a few for iso...and for mode.and luminescence.....I think there is flash on and off..and size.....but if you get into the main menu there may be available other changes if you know exactly what you do ...browse them by category ..

Shutter Speed Adjustments

Use the M (Manual) or S (Shutter Priority) modes. See the manual for details on using these modes and setting shutter, aperture, etc.

Unfortunately, Panasonic's website is not properly linking to the user manual so I can't download the manual to provide you with the exact steps on how to set the shutter in the M or S modes.

Very grainy pictures indoors at night

If you can adjust the ISO sensitivity to a lower number then the graininess will be reduced.

However, by reducing the ISO, you will need a slower shutter speed and a larger aperture. A tripod, table or other support may be necessary.

The "noise reduction" setting on the camera can also be adjusted a step up.

Taking pictures at full resolution and fine compression will also help.

Overall, at least try lowering the ISO, and using the flash brighter.
