I have a GE over range microwave. It work fine until one day the power goes out n nothing seem to work. Could it be a blown fuse or it's time to replace a new one. Thanks

first check the fuse in the plug, if thats ok, then there is a fuse in the microwave itself that could have blown, have that checked out first.

No power, nothing works.

this is likely to be a blown fuse inside the microwave,,,
they dont normally blow for nothing,,you may have a biger fault in there,,,,,the fuses are not the normal size,,,you may find it hard to get them

We ran our microwave with nothing in the oven for about 4 minutes. It now won't work. Is there anything I can do to fix it?

Yes, take the back cover off and look for a "small glass fuse,(thermal fuse) like in the car fuse box and see if you can tell if it is blown and then try to find a replacement like it.

There is a fuse and cavity thermal fuses as well as one on the magnatron that is supposed to reset itself.. The fuse is behind the control panel and the cavity fuses will require removal of the cabinet. Did you check for power at the plug?

The main power fuse inside the MW may have been blown from the steam shorting out the circuitry. If so this fuse probably can be replaced. Lowes has replacement fuses.

HI, there is a inline fuse located inside the microwave ion the power supply board. check for continuity. replace the fuse if necessary. if the fuse is OK, replace the power supply board.

It may have a blown internal fuse.  The back covers on most ovens can be removed with a half-dozen screws and the fuse should be pretty easy to find inside but may be tougher to find as a replacement part.
Running a microwave (or any magnetron) without having a load (a place for the power to go) causes a near 100% reflection of the power back to the maggie; not a healthy situation. Because of the physics governing transfer of power, the magnetron dissipates half of the power in heat anyhow and making it eat the other half too can be fatal for most and it may be shorted. Magnetrons as replacement parts are not costly (any more) but in my experience, they are also inferior to the original and there is no way to tell before they are installed and operating. If they are not as capable as the original, you will notice a distinct 'slow-down' in its heating capacity.

Possible blown fuse

It would have to be checked with a multimeter or continuity tester.
