It either has too much fuel or not enough air. you will have to adjust both to figure out which is the culprit

When filled with kerosene then plugged in, the heater will kick on for about 3 seconds and the fan will run but it will not ignite, then it shuts off. reddy heater 55, 55000btu. runs on K1 or fuel oil.

Ready heater sparks and theen just blows smoke

Make sure the fuel is not contaminated, and is k 1 ,if it is diesel fuel in it,and it is not made for diesel ,then that is the problem, also use a anti gel additive for gelling in the fuel,it doesn`t have to be that cool for gelling.

Heater wont start.Fan goes, Starts to heat, then blows a couple clouds of smoke and dies. Ive cleaned filter, new fuel. Cant figure out what adjustment I should be doing. Glow Plug? What else?

take the shield off and see if it burns with more combustion air. If it does then the heater isnt getting enough air. look for a shutter or set screw near the burner that should be the primary air adjustment. sounds like you have been working on the fuel side already. You may check the orfice to see if it is partially blocked, use a safety pin and gently **** it out. also check the burner tube

THE HEATER STARTS THEB BLOWS ALOT OF SMOKE

There are any number possibilities for intermittent running.
1. Bad ground connection at the Ignition Device (transformer, spark box)
2. restricted fuel filter causing fuel starvation
3. crack in the plastic end cover
4. crack in the airline
5. crack in the fuel line
6. crack in the nozzle adapter
7. water in the fuel
8. Others I’m sure I left out

You must be the one to troubleshoot & find the cause.

What is the model number? Could be a number of things, depending on which technology is used on your particular 55,000 btu heater.
