Faulty plate warmer on rangemaster 110 dual fuel

After just 10 months my ceramic electric plate warmer has stopped working. The neon lights up and all the other electrics are fine, but the plate warmer just won't heat up. Can it be replaced or perhaps does it just need a fuse? Not sure if this is a big job because it looks as if the plate warmer is sealed into the cooker. please help.

Yep, Ive had the same problem. 3 plates in 3 years.
The wiring just falls off the connecter that feeds the heating element.
Must be a design flault. Aftfter 4 years its now out of warranty so i,ve just
left it unfixed.

Re: Faulty plate warmer on rangemaster 110 dual fuel

We have the same problem on a Rangemaster Toledo 110. It is not a fuse.
The 'Hot' light still comes on because that is a different (parallel) circuit.
Examination by a competent electrician has found that the soldering for the wires that power the warming metal strip under the glass is faulty. You will have to ask for a replacement part.
There may be a design flaw, so you might want to enquire about the professional all gas burner top and just use the griddle as a warming plate over the second wok burner.

Good luck.

Our 2008 model failed the same way after 5 years, but the replacement from has a new design which I am optimistic about - see the second photo on that page. They have soldered substantial tags to a metal-plated section of the glass. This may give anyone else who finds this old thread (as I did) the confidence to buy a replacement - I wasn't going to pay for one with the old design.

Warmer lights up but not getting hot - Rangemaster Toledo XT

Hi Sally

I havd exactly the same problem. I contacted Rangemaster/Aga support line (0845 603 5312 if in warranty, 0870 789 5107 if not) and they told me the heating element was shot.

My cooker is 2 1/2 years old, so out of warranty, but they were good enough to send me a new cooker top (top left hand side only of course) free of charge!!!, I just have to get it fitted.

You have to replace the whole left hand side of the cooker top too - the burner that the wok goes on!

Good luck

Oven fan noisy/broken

this noise probably means that the fan is about to stop working, this is what happened to mine. You can easily buy replacement fan off E-bay (it seems easier to find the right fan on e-bay that any of the confusing supplier sites). You then just need to remove the inside oven back and the outside electrical to replace the fan.
