Turn the camera on and select Setup on the mode dial on the top of the camera. Use the navigation control to scroll to Date Imprint and press OK in the centre of the navigation control. Now Navigate to Off and press OK. The date will no longer appear on your images.

Need date displayed, not just edit it, on the bottom corner of my computer

This is for windows 7,
1 - Right click on the taskbar and select properties
2 - Under the 'Taskbar' tab you'll see the 'Notification area', click the Customize button
3 - Click on "Turn system icons on or off"
4 - The first item should be clock. Select on instead of off.
5 - Click ok.

The date stamp setting is in the recording menu. See "Using the [REC] Menu" section beginning on page 91 of this manual. The date stamp is described on page 110.

How do i remove the time and date at bottom right corner of picture.

Manual can be downloaded free from here ....

Basically the date stamp can be turned on / off as an option on the RECORD menu. Page 33 of the manual explains it (with pictures).

Note that if the option is turned on, it states that the date / time is permanently embedded in the picture.

Hope this helps

My pictures won't go on the computer

I also had this problem intermittently. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. Sometime rebooting cured it, sometimes it didn't.
In the end I got frustrated and bought a USB-connected CF-card reader (they're fairly cheap these days) and now if it doesn't work, I just pop the card out (using "eject" button on the bottom) and put it in the card reader into the USB port. It works every time, and is also much faster than the direct-from-camera transfer.

Sony DSC-W55, how to make the date to appear on the picture itself?

This camera doesn't give you the option to have the dates on the pictures. The manual says there is a Picture Motion Browser software that comes with the camera that could do it.
Hope that helps.

Print Picture with date

I don't believe that the XTi will let you have the date on the picture.
Easiest solution I can think of is to download some free software like and use the text tool to add it in the corner before printing.
If you have forgotten the date or time, and you're using windows (not sure how to do this on a mac) right click on the image, go to properties, click the summary tab, and then click Advanced. That will give you something called the EXIF data, or all the info about the picture (camera model, shutter speed, etc). Near the bottom should be the date and time.
