My breadmachine appears to be leaking grease into the bread as it's being made...is there some way to rebuild the pan, or do I just need to buy a new pan?

The sealed bearing is leaking and is broken. Sorry but you can't repair it. A new pan is required. Hank

My Emiril bread pan was leaking grease also, just buying a new one is not good enough for me. I called Tefal at 800-395-8325 and told them of my problem and they are sending me a new one free of charge. Hope this helps.

Hi
As long as the drive mechanism beneath the pan is still stiff to turn and fels like it engages the motor you should be fine. See pic. The centre 4 spike drive unit is what is important. Normally the toothed drive belt will fail. If this is still good then replace the pan.3f754847-72d6-45ec-a55c-8ca7f7deffab.jpg

Where is the ol coming from?

There is a rubber seal in the bottom of your pan that has failed. There is grease under that seal to keep the spindle that turns the paddle lubricated. If your breadmaker is still under warranty contact Cusinart to get help. If it is no longer under warranty then you could still probably order a new pan from them. If you just want to get rid of the darn thing you can always send it to me. At least that way it won't end up in a landfill. You can reach me at daryl441@msn.com

My Emiril bread pan is leaking grease also, there needs to be a safety recall this pan has hardlry been used . Where can you get another one and how long before the new one leaks grease. Buying new ones...

i don't have an Emiril bread pan but i do know that the leakage won't be oil but dough that has leaked through the seal around the spindle. when it comes back up it is dirty. this is caused by the friction as the spindle rotates. it is all down to wear and tear, so i wouldn't worry too much about it happening if you buy a knew breadmaker. good luck . jackie A

Toastmastter breadmachine model 1186. I used it two days ago, worked fine. Today the drive belt will not turn. It makes a small clicking noise. Can you oil the shaft or are the bearing gone?

Hi, Take the bread pan out of the machine and see if it still makes the noise when you start a kneading cycle. If it still makes the noise then the belt may be loose or a gear has chipped. If everything is normal then it could be the bread pan. There is a sealed bearing on the bottom of it and when that breaks or freezes then the paddle won't turn and it's time for a new bread pan Be sure to unplug the machine when checking belts. They are located in the base of the machine. Hank

Black stuff is coming up from the center mixing part and getting into my bread. Is it grease? How can I get rid of it? Thanks for any advice. Leanne

Hi, Yes it is a form of grease. The sealed bearing that the paddle shaft fits through has failed and is leaking out the lubrication. You will need a new bread pan. (Sorry it took so long for you to get a reply). Hank

Breadman pan seal leaks and gets black spots in the bread. need a new stem and seal kit for Model TR555LC. Is such a thing available, hate to buy a new machine.

Hi, The black spots are the lubrication oil that is leaking from the sealed bearing. There is no kit to fix this, You will need a new bread pan. Check out ebay or Amazon. Hopefully you will find one at a reasonable cost. Hank

The gear grease you are referring to is from the sealed bearing on the bottom of the pan. This has failed and will not allow the paddle to rotate. There is no replacement parts, and a new bread pan is needed. Sorry..Hank.

Probably need a new bread pan. I had great success in finding what I wanted for my breadmaker at http://breadmakerpartsemporium.ioffer.com/. They have manuals and parts for most breadmakers at very reasonable prices.
