Umm, does it produce sound? Or is it seized. Because if so the coil is blown. I doubt there are any re-cones for that subwoofer, so just buy a new one.

I have an Kenwood 12" sub woofer everything looks good but it will not do anything

The assumption is that it is a passive speaker with no crossover circuit. If you connect a good 9 volt battery to the speaker and neither hear or see a sound or movement the next step is to confirm with a multi-meter an open voice coil circuit.

It is possible to repair a broken wire but not likely a burnt- open voice coil.

Hope this helps?

How do I get access to repair loose wires?

Some compact speakers are accessible internally only by removing the the grilles but caution is advised as some grilles are glued on to prevent rattles.

Chimes do not work

Check for loose wires between the clock Movement and the chime box. If those are good (and the batteries have good solid connection-not lose) you probably need to replace the chime control box or the whole movement. carries replacements.
Mechanical clocks, while more in cost, will live a much longer life with proper care than battery clocks. Plus, an actual chime (not noise through a speaker) is much more pleasing to the ears.

The first thing to do is to check the resistance of the voice coil. Get an ohm meter & place one lead on each of the speaker terminals. If a value of 0 ohms results, or no reading at all, the voice coil is blown.

If you are pressing in, and suddenly gives way, my guess would be that the excursion of the speaker was too grand (common with car stereo, everyone loves bass) and the wires that wrap around the voice coil of the speaker were broken from the speaker inputs.

It is possible to recone the speaker, but by the time you track down a recone kit (highly unlikely that it is even available) you would be rather deep into the project.

Long story short:
check the speaker terminals with an ohm meter. If you get a resistance, they should work with free woofer movement. No resistance = blown woofer.

Have Cobra 29 LTD Classic, no sound when hooked to antenna, no light or meter movement on the RF/SWR meter, DOES have power to radio and channel display, any tips to repair, or check for problem areas?

check the squelch by turning all the way both ways. check the external speaker socket. if it is the swicthing type it could be either bad conntact or dry joints. try an external speaker to see if that works. another thing is I believe it wont work if the microphone is not pluged in or connection fault there. Good luck.

Why is my L7 12" *******

Get a volt meter and check the resistance from the positive pole to the negative. There should be at least 2 ohms or 4 ohms depending on the model you have. No reading at all? Check the leads under the terminals - are they still connected? Does the voltmeter read 0 or no ohms- then the voice coil is shorted out and should be repaired or replaced.
