Question about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-N1 Digital Camera

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-N1 Digital Camera wont come on

When I turn on my camera on in camera or video mode, it says access, and then tells me to turn off and on the power. i do this and nothing happens. the lens does not move in our out. i re-initialized the camera but no better. help

    i have a manule but am not sure what you are saying. i am not sure what button to press to enter safe mode / reset. do you know?

do you have a manual for that?

if i could only remember correctly, you have to press a button to go into safe mode for that. you are experiencing an internal error that requires a reset that can only be done in your cameras safe mode.

I had the exact same problem, from reading various different articles it sounded like the problem was lens guide pins being out of position. When the lens was extended when tuned on, I held it open and twisted slightly, a slight click was heard (the pins relocating I think) and the camera returned to normal. I hope this helps.
