Blue Vertical lines on picture

We are seeing light/dark blue vertical lines on the screen when we power up. The picture would usually be fine after warming up for a half-hour but now it is several hours and it still hasnt got a picture. Audio is fine.

I also have thin blue lines which run vertically from top to bottom about 1" apart across my entire screen. It was intermittent at first but now they are there all the time. I will contact Sony tomorrow and hope they will take care of it for me. The set is not that old and isn't really used that much. I also noticed that the Class action suit has been extended to June 30, 2009.

Thanks for the great info on this site, Kevin.

Uh Oh! Your light engine has warped a little from overheating and is distorting the picture. Make sure the filters on the cooling fans are clean.
Here is the lawsuit website: http://esupport.sony.com/sxrdsettlement

My suggestion to you is to get on the phone with Sony and start complaining, then keep complaining until they agree to pay for it. You may have to get the problem diagnosed by a pro before they agree to pay for it though.
Hope ya fix it!

Screen particially blacking out with vertical lines at bottom of my DELL laptop. at the bottom of laptop screen there are vertical lines @ 2" they are blue, dark gray, white, purple, light green lines....

Tryconnecting an external monitor to the laptop. You may have to select the videooutput to display on the external monitor by holding down the blue key and pressing the blue CRT/LCD (located on one of the keys, likeF8,F9, etc..). If the problem occurs on the external monitor with the batteryor AC power, then you have a problem with either the video card or motherboardin the laptop. If the problem does not happen using the external monitor thenyou laptop's LCD display is going bad.

Vertical lines on screen. Can't see picture at

It sounds like you need a new screen.

Buy one on Ebay for 20 Euro (inclusive of postage)

youtube.com has great videos of how to change a screen.
You will need a tweezers and very small "philips" (cross/plus head) screwdriver.
Make sure the screwdriver has magnets....so that you dont lose some screws....they are tiny.

If you buy a replacement "LCD Screen Display" on Ebay then usually all the tools you need are included. (I just checked).

I also have just replaced my screen....screen was damaged...LCD leaked and lots of vertical lines on a now only WHITE screen.
Camera works fine now.

Check to see if the camera is still working.
Try taking some pictures....and then put the SD-card into your computer to see if the pictures are being taken.

Blue vertical line at reght side of screen

This is normal. Depending on what you have connected to it the lines could be white, black and white specs, or green. Just mode will show the entire picture event the parts that aren't supposed to be seen. I would not recommend that setting. Full is the best mode if you want to see the entire picture in the correct ratio.

Sony KF50WE610 Vertical Blue Lines Across Screen

the vertical blue lines indicate some interference from other electronic gadgets near your tv. it started showing up on my sony grand wega when i installed my wireless modem. i almost ordered a new rear projection lamp costing over $100 but decided to experiment. i first moved my desk computer farther away from the tv then isolated the wireless modem router by placing it inside a small glass - the vertical blue lines became lighter in color so i dedided to find another small glass that fit inside the first glass container then put the router in the double glass - no more blue lines and my wireless modem router still works.
do some deductive thinking to figure out what's messing up your tv and isolate the interference.
good luck!

Picture shows only about a 2-3" blue, green,or red vertical line down the middle

If your seeing vertical line across the screen you need to check the components in the vertical stage as well as the vertical IC could be bad, or the yoke could open.
Also check if any voltage reaching the vertical stage.

Good luck.
